Can we suck for 2 more seasons so we have a shot at this kid
http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=240385 - Reubenkincade
yes he's pretty awesome. His brother is in this draft. Both are great players and this years foote brother is said to be a safe pick with a guaranteed nhl career (from scouting report) |

Honest question.
Dio you think there is an available coach that could take this team into the playoffs, not contend but compete.
It you had your druthers, do you believe any of the employed coaches could?
By that, do you see a coach whose strategy would accent this teams strengths? - Pres.cup
yes
by employed do you mean employed by us?
I also want to be clear that success is also hinged on the supporting coaches not just HC. THe right staff can make a team a winner by being complete |

well we got exactly what I said needed to be gone... I named WD, lidster and pearns as what needed to go, keeping malhotra and jarvis.
Apparently Linden and JB agree exactly with this
going in the right direction

Id agree with that as well, but with missing the playoffs you never know.
So here's a thought, LA tends to be pretty aggressive in going after what they want. Who does LA pursue for a coach? They'll try to tie up someone fast.
where does all the coaches end up regarding available positions? |

Team will improve by 10-12 pts max. But I'm banking on another bottom 3 finish. Coach don't matter. If they hire Green its cause they didn't wanna lose him. I suspect WD already knows his next job. Green won't matter next year. Hopefully shows improvement the year after. But it's the personnel. Not the coaching.
It's all about bottom 3 next year. It's what we need. This draft won't be any saviour. - storm88

I could see a trade involved with the underachieving Flyers where Tanev and Bear cheese are involved for something like SanHeim and a1st. Flyers need to do something as the core forwards are late prime. - Reubenkincade
Flyers have a lot of prospects that are being passed over by ones drafted later and later.
Hagg, Sanhiem, Morin find themselves behind Myers and Provorov. Morin and Hagg put up very JV like numbers this year.
Scott Laughton also seems to be finding it hard to find place on that roster.
Tanev for Morin, Laughton, 2nd. |

Wouldn't it be better to get their 1st that has lotto implications then failed prospects? |

Do you actually think Philly is going to give up a lotto 1st?
Who says failed prospects? Prospects that aren't getting roster space. JB seems to do well with others teams "failed" prospects. |

I don't know. But ASL said it should be easy for JB to add 1st rounders if he did his job |

Ran simulator today and it came out:
1. Bolts
2. Sabers
3. Vegas
4. Avalanche
5. Canucks
I was told also that teams get rewarded for tanking. That odds were statistically against anything else. Darn that simulator. Must be broken. They get another chance at it, right? |

1st rounders are worth a ton with the cap barely going up. I would say it is much harder then it used to be. I like that JB gets prospects that are further along, it's much less of a wonder what they will turn out to be. |

My luck on simulator
1)Canucks
2)Devils
3)Vegas
4)Colorado
5)Phoenix
Last year I tried this thing many times and always got 4 or 5, this year 1st try and 1st OA. Don't think I will try again, might ruin our luck. |

4OA- 1OA- 4OA- 1OA- 4OA. From my simulator, Van's either drafting 1st of 4th. |

It has nothing to do with the coach. It has to do with the players being rolled out onto the ice.
I think Benning is doomed . His only saving grace this year is committing to a rebuild.
If the team was stripped down and we sucked fans would understand and support. Everyone understood about trading for assets as we did at TDL.
Torts warned Benning that this core is stale and yet he kept the three biggest pieces that are the style of this disfuncional team. |

Very true.
Focus has now shifted to Benning as has been discussed before on here. If ownership isn't happy where the team is concerned in 1-2 years we could see another managerial shift.
Until the roster is changed enough where the Sedins aren't running the ship and the mediocre leadership that guys like Edler show...Like you said Benning is dooming himself a bit here. |

I am ready to welcome new management.
Trevor is too close to the team and really doesn't know what is best for the team . He thinks with his heart not his head.
Benning is paying for Gillis signings but in three years there has not been a lot to stand tall about. The prospect pool is stronger but we are still rolling out a roster of Skille Megna Chaput. This should have been the roster 3 years ago not year 4.
Edler is going to walk just like Hamhuis and Vrbata did with no returns.
We failed with one rokie coach but will bring in a second rookie coach with the same roster, while experienced coaches remain unemployed.
This team is too nice and nice guys finish last |
