Betting against the Canucks? - Scooby_Doo

It has nothing to do with the coach. It has to do with the players being rolled out onto the ice.
I think Benning is doomed . His only saving grace this year is committing to a rebuild.
If the team was stripped down and we sucked fans would understand and support. Everyone understood about trading for assets as we did at TDL.
Torts warned Benning that this core is stale and yet he kept the three biggest pieces that are the style of this disfuncional team. - VANTEL
How can you possibly blame Benning for keeping those three pieces? They're immoveable - everyone knows that.

I'm not trading Tanev. Unless my sox are blown off. That means a top 6, or even top 3 F is involved.
By no means am I moving Tanev for "prospects - picks"
Not that I'm there GM. - storm88
If i could get Karl Alzner in free agency I would consider moving him. He has an 8 team ntc that kicks in July 1, so lots of teams to move him to (22).
As patient as I am, it is very hard to watch this team play, so anything to help with accelerating this restructuring is ok by me. |

After Vrbata, Eriksson, and Miller, I don't think our franchise is a very desirable market for higher end free agents. Given playing time, I would say we seem pretty attractive to the fringe NHL/AHL free agents lol. The Megna's/Chaputs/Skille's are probably telling their agents to entertain anything that comes in from VAN this summer lol |

We don't have a Stamkos and a Hedman we have a Sutter and an Edler. I thinkDragon could have coached the TB - VANTEL
He hasn't REALLY had Stamkos for the last 3 years but they almost won the cup twice.

fringe NHLers will come knowing they have to beat out rookies for a roster spot
Alzner and others like him wont go from playoff teams to a lottery team unless they think the Canucks are better than everyone else thinks they are, which is unlikely |

Welcome to the basement, where top-line UFA's never sign
Welcome to the basement, where our team is so devoid of talent that the trade market cut us out.
Welcome to the basement, where the only way out is to draft, develop and wait, wait a long time.
Exciting times gents. |

I am surprised I never got yelled at for suggesting one of the Sutter's as coach... is everyone alright today? |

They only have 155 games left to make up for this poor start. - Scooby_Doo
I actually dont have a dislike for the Blue Jays, but I thought it would rile some up. Kinda scary stat for their fans that only 3 teams have done it in 40 years though, all while playing 162 game seasons |

we had seen a Sutter/Hartley combo behind the bench. I threw up and left the comments section for the night |

Been a big believer in drafting since about 1990...boy was I ever disappointed in 92 when we selected Polasek. This team has sucked at drafting.
Draft and supplement with trades and fill in with free agents while restructuring has always been my belief.
Not into tanking though, want my team working hard alway |

Never have liked Hartley, but like Sutter's, Brent especially. Who would you like?

I hated going with Washington. Cause they always disappoint. But, loaded up on:
WASH - MTL
EDM - CHI - storm88
I think NYR gets past Montreal. Edmonton vs SJ could go either way, my bias is SJ based on the possible 1st. |

I'd like a coach that isn't determined to play dump and chase. Let the kids, and the veterans for that matter, use whatever creativity and skill that they have. It's not like wins are the priority next season, it's a development year. But I think that management favours a safer style where losing by one goal creates the illusion of competitiveness. So they'll probably hire a rookie coach that is more likely to play their system. |
