Good write up C.
A couple things i found interesting from Spector's article...
The lack of any true 1st line talent.
We all like Bo, but seeing Sven-Bo-Boesser as a 1st line is a joke.
For all the hand-wringing around how Bo started the season down the depth chart, that is where he made hay.
As a 1st liner, he's playing against higher competition and his stats showed the results.
For all the hate they get, I maintain that the Sedin's continue to insulate the younger players.
I liked both those coaching candidates mentioned, but i'd think Green would have the lead for Vancouver.
It's non-sensical to say that since WD (new coach) failed here that another rookie coach would not be a good fit.
I say Green with a vet assistant (Ruff). |

Green is a very good coach in respects to getting his players to play his system and works very well with young players, instructing them to how to be complete players.
I certainly have no problem letting Green get a crack at coaching this team but IMO he is still the ideal coach to be sending the kids to learn from. I'm not sold his "systems" or in game adjustments will be any better than WD.
The Canucks need to commit to allowing their prospects to develop in the AHL and junior leagues, something they have for the most part refused to do. - belcherbd
I like his 5v5 system better than WD's, but it likely won't be more entertaining. The structure he has Utica play with is impressive. But like WD, it's likely that he's going to be tough on young guys who struggle defensively and don't play within the system. Let's all just pray that he isn't as stubborn as WD when it comes to lineup changes if he is hired as HC.
Not my first choice for coach, but I won't be against it either. I'd rather hire him than Ruff or Crawford, but that's just me.

I suppose we good finish 31st next season - CanuckDon
Ok I'll bite not that it will happen but how is that worse?
17-31th all the same to me other than the lower the better draft wise. |

Green already has Jarvis. I suspect he will choose the rest of the coaching staff.

I was joking. It's a stacked draft so I won't be complaining if we have a top 5 pick |

Probably the way it will unfold. That said USA today & EA sports will keep the points close to the same as they were this season. |

I'm wondering what other coaches fit the "young guy who can grow with the next core" mold besides Green that the team may interview/consider.
Sheldon Keefe from the Marlies? I assume Hunter/Dubas were fans of his from their OHL days. Only 36 years old He's had success in the OHL/AHL, but his AHL teams have been stocked with talent.

The system he had to use in Utica he had no choice in with the talent he had.
I use talent very loosely btw lol
AS for entertainment thats subjective to if he is ordered to open it up or not.
Marching orders will become prevalent soon enough but i am hoping the kids r given the opportunity to play up to their potential by playing to their strengths. Nothing wrong with coaching & teaching going into it but not stifling creativity would allow for more entertainment. |

I agree with Don, I think JB/Linden already view Jarvis as that guy and will let the new coach fill out the rest of his staff. |

makes sense.
i don't have a a hardon (a dragon?) for Jarvis personally.
i'd be ok with letting him go later on if a better candidate was landed. |

The same type of position Lemaire has with the Leafs.

I got the same ending, didnt like the chances of 2 #1 seeds making it to the finals, so I put the Sharks in |
