Maybe, I personally have no idea.
from what I have read, and a Canes fan that has posted on here confirmed, Pesce, Slavin, and Hanifin look to be the future of that blue line. They also have Murphy and Fluery.
They don't have a great top 9 in terms of forwards though. 23 or 9 would be an upgrade for them.

1st round- drafted 3 forwards, ZERO defensemen, traded 2 picks
2nd round- drafted 4 forwards, ONE defenseman, traded 4 picks
So out of a possible 14 picks in the 1st and 2nd since Murray has been here...
he's only used ONE of this picks on a defenseman (Guhle)
No freaking wonder out defense is in rough shape
