Goalies are a weird bunch, Varly is still the better goalie and if they didn't protect him I guaranteed that messes with his head. Pickard is the back up and not a good one last year. So there is no worries of him being picked by Vegas when there will be way better younger goalie starters and back up available.

I sure hope you're right Coga.....I didnt even consider that point about being unprotected would mess w Varly's already fragile mindset. but would it not do the same for Picks? I think Pickard is a reliable back up and he did ok filling in for Varly. I think both goalies will put up solid numbers in front of a younger, albeit inexperienced D corp next year. but I"m jacked to see the top pair be EJ and Zads. unless they trade for a real solid 1st pair Dman. especially if we can get one of Ducks stud D guys. I just dont want to have to face Duchene in the west, he's gotta be sent to an Eastern team

I don't think Picks has any issues with it. Hes a team player kind of guy from the sounds of it. I would assume hes not thinking hes better than Varly and is the number 1 so I don't think he would take it to heart. I do like Picks but this year really shown he isn't ready to take Varlys net..if ever.

I like EJ and Zads as a pair, they work well together. Barrie with a better dman Zads would be key since I am not sure if Zads and Barrie is the ideal partner. Thats how I look at it anyways.
