i posted this in the last blog. and then a new one appeared. a reply to imthatguy so...

compare these two ideas:

reinhart +6OA for tanev +2OA.

and

reinhart for hanifin

in the first trade, we get a 27 year old, right handed, steady defenseman and either patrick or hischier at pick 2. this draft is weak, but its reasonable to me that hischier could be better than reinhart at some point. tanev is under contract for 3 more years at roughly 4.5. i think what i like least about this is that tanev is another righty.

reinhart for hanifin is another trade i have seen mentioned. its two pedigreed young players, neither has been bad, but neither has played to their potential, both are blocked by other players at their natural position with their current organization. hanifin is a left handed d. sabres keep pick 6 and draft bpa, which could very well be makar (rhd) or heiskanen (lhd) and wait for them to develop.

I really like the Tanev idea. We upgrade the blueline and replace Reinhart in the same trade. Almost a best of both worlds.

My best guess is Meningitis. Seeing he was taken into Neuro department, he's been sick for days prior, an infection to that degree would cause ICU treatment. Could be wrong, just MY guess.

Again there's a difference between a panic move and the difference with speeding something up (or attempting to)

My guess is he had a time line or was given one. He wasn't just going to draft players and not make trades.
