Dragon should write a guest blog once the new coach has been hired. He can get NuckFU to edit it for him.

Only if he brings in vantel as the talent scout!

That was such a good time....

I wasn't the only one to notice that Willie seemed to get a lot more honest—and quotable—after the trade deadline.

Isn't it interesting how the coach started speaking his mind RIGHT AFTER our GM started tanking? Coincidence???

I'm watching European golf on tv right now. There's a guy named Richard S. Johnson. If he was a real man, he'd go by D1ck S Johnson.

Next year would be the year that TG could show if he could develop NHL quality players. Should have a host of junior players coming.

Friedman has confirmed that Green will not return to Utica. It's Canucks, another NHL team or Europe.

Just an outside opinion looking in, but, it really looked/sounded like Willie was disappointed the Canucks were entering a rebuild stage. Did not want to be part of it and it showed.

Yes.....unfortunately Vantel has little to no concept of the process they're about to embark on, with commitment this time I might add! #morninghate

Goalies are in a category of their own IMO. Rollie/Cloutier spend most of their time with them, Green only picked games for them to play in.

I have a hard time judging Green's ability to develop players for the same reason it was tough for Willie, he's been trying to win.

I had hopes he could do something for Pedan, but so far him and Subban havent been able to get to the level where they can get promoted and played. McEneny might be his first developed D

I don't care, Green will be hired shortly and I will get my way. And willie was fired out of a cannon truthfully, I don't care who we hire as long as they are a young coach committed to the young players and not the old core.

Whoever it is....they must be onboard with development. The team was not in a position to win even though WD scratched and clawed, tooth and nail, to try and win every single game.

Having veterans around is crucially important during a rebuild, that's why I'm ok with the twins and Eriksson being around next year (although deep down inside I want them gone). You can't do what Edmonton initially did with their youth.

As much as I'd like to see the Sedins gone, it's just not realistic with their NMC's and unwillingness to move. I'd rather see some veteran UFA's signed but it's not happening so I'm realistic.

The old core has more power than the coach. Tough task. The team is handcuffed one more year.

I am fine with Green. His familiarity with the kids will be beneficial in ensuring they get icetime at the NHL level IMO. Its very easy for any new coach to trust vets, its much harder for one to come in without any knowledge of what the kids can do. Green can hit the ground running at training camp with a good sense of things

I think because Green is TL and Benning's guy he will tow the company line better than Willie. Development > wins.
