Honestly, the reason why most people label us as the worst fans in hockey, I believe is a direct reflection of who delivers our content to the "average fan" in Gallagher/Botch/goofs at tsn1040.

Thanks

Willie not throwing people under the bus

Botch being an ass though, "did you ever go back and look at old power play arrangements when the Sedin's were successful?"

Botch is such an idiot ...how he has a job amazes me

Willie has been really open in this presser. He isnt throwing guys under the bus but being honest on what he thought happened.

Admits he has wondered what would have happened if he took the Penguins offer over Van...

I'm sure he's a nice guy but he's not the right coach for the Canucks right now because he mentality is strictly....win.

Yes, then I looked down the bench and Kesler and Erhoff weren't there.
- golfingsince

Thats what I think critics of the powerplay are missing. The Sedin's passing ability is the only legit threat on it, meaning just cover everyone else and you've eliminate a lot of the options. Ehrhoff/Salo, Kesler, and when Danny could shoot gave them so many different looks

How he & Pratt have jobs is beyond me. Two of the most egotistical asshats in the media. Gallagher needs to have a massive stroke and STFU.

6th round 50 goal scorer, who wouldn't want that?
- Codes1087

It's nice to see teams taking small but skilled guys in the late rounds as apposed to drafting a bunch of giants who can just play physical ...how the times have changed

It makes me sad that it is true though. They hear Tanbir at the Summit and raise their hands in solidarity that rebuilds should be done over a summer and think its possible. They hear Gallagher and Murph between periods on TV and think everything he says is truth. They listen to Botch being interviewed on TSN as if he is some high-demand personality who knows everything Canucks but he just drives the Hysteria train. Its sad really.

Bieksa apparently texted Willie when he heard the news, thanking him for his work and offering his sympathies. Really sounds like the players liked him a lot, which I think bodes well for him finding another job

Pratt has him on most mornings so that Gallagher can piss & moan about Gillis getting fired and why Shinkurak has not been given a chance by Vancouver and now Calgary.

Yeah there's no threat from the point, and there really isn't a shooting threat like Kesler/Samuelsson. Maybe Boeser will become that next year, but unless we have someone that can create offence from the point and let a few bombs fly the PP will continue to struggle.

For sure. I really dont think hes a bad coach in the same way that I dont think Torts was a bad coach, there just needs to be a proper fit for your situation and style.

Willie was the right hire for when they thought they could rebuild on the fly IMO, but wasnt the case when they started falling off

With all the media asking the Canucks about their retool or rebuild I would love to see a guy like WD or anyone else who gets fired start to question when the rebuild at 1040 is going to happen ...let's not call it a retool ...let's call it a detool

It just shows that 3/4 of the fan base are mentally challenged drama queens.

It would be interesting to see how WD would coach If he had a different roster ...would he still favour certain players ...if he trusted his horses could he adapt on the fly better or would he stick to his ways

Agreed, I was thinking that last night when I was watching some of MTL/NYR at how much better the Canadiens powerplay is for having Weber. The opposition needs to play him so much closer, leaving more room for shooters like Radulov/Patches. Hopefully Boeser can be that backside threat, but still need a D that can shoot

I hope he gets the Florida job so we can see what he can do with some top line talent

I was kinda hoping Torts was going to kill someone from there. 1 year just wasnt enough time to build the return hate

Even with Subban/Markov their PP was dangerous because of the point threat. We haven't had a point threat in a long time.

Yep I'd agree with that.
