Totally off topic but...
I saw Fury Road. It was exciting and visually stunning but I think I was disappointed with the entire package.
They had a perfect formula to work with and they (frank)ed it up. Plus, so many people talked about the amazing car chase/stunt scenes but in reality most of it was CGI or flatbed filming.
The original Road Warrior was far superior is so, so many ways. - bloatedmosquito
Did you know that its an 18hr flight to Thailand? Lay over dependent of course..... |

Oh I hear you.
Just going around twitter a bit recently and there have been words said that FA is going to let Benning do what he needs to do to get this team rebuilt. But like you I am very skeptical any of that is potentially true. - LordHumungous

No, Vegas has a chance at drafting him though. My best guess and from the things i've heard, mostly rumours even though Brandon is a small place.
His legs have got stronger but still are pretty weak especially after the groin surgery. He really didn't play much this year and he is looking at having a full year and being healthy.
I think it will be something like Dylan Strome, too good for junior but something missing from his NHL game. - manvanfan
It really would have been nice to see his numbers had he not been injured. |

I have an acquaintance who thought that was the best movie ever made. I agreed it was well made but couldn't even be considered the best Mad Max film, let alone the best movie ever. |

Don't bully me into talking hockey on a team site that's no longer playing hockey.
It's early in the day, still loads of time to talk about how god damn awful this team is. A post or two about a movie won't distract from that riveting canuck discussion and I'm sure, debate. |

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on a few things then. I actually thought Fury Road should have won best picture but was beaten out by another boring controversy film in Spotlight...which was ok.
I agree it was basically three car chase scenes but the visuals and music and artistic quality was just stunning to me..regardless of CGI. And I love how the story was actually more about Furiosa than Max...real nice touch there where I thought the characters meshed very well on screen with Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
For me the formula worked very well and George Miller hit it out of the park. I agree that Road Warrior had some better attributes to it...but overall for me Fury Road was a better film. But I do love Road Warrior and have a strong emotional attachment to that film as a kid.
To each their own I guess.

I'm glad Willie is gone as well! It was clearly evident he did not want any part of a rebuild, he wanted to win and compete, wrong man for the job at the wrong time. - LeftCoaster
The rebuild only started 6 weeks before he got fired. |

I dont really get what your asking?
Im basically saying that for example if JB says Nico is not ready that FA will demand that he be on the team.
My comment had nothing to do with any players talent, just that FA will come in crying and demand he play for ticket sales. - mauryballstein
Oh...I thought you said the opposite...that Aqulini doesn't meddle at all |

Ya I know. Maybe they bite on a future number 1 center. This being a weak draft and us desperately needing top pairing dmen this might be a good move. It then allows us to easily deal Edler and Tanev.. - mauryballstein
why is everyone soo eager to trade Tanev? He is one of most solid D-men and is only 27. I just don't get it |

He's got value and he probably will be too old when this team actually becomes competitive. |

Trade him now while he has value, when we make the playoffs again he'll be 31-32 which will be a waste of his prime years. |

TBH, have not seen Rogue One yet. My wife, 9 year old, and 6 year old went without me. I've been super critical of what has been done to the franchise so they say I'm no fun to go with... (frank)ers.
Oh man, I have so many issues with FR I don't know where to start.
Road Warrior has been copied so many times in movies, TV, and video games because the premise is simple and believable. Clear antagonist and protagonist. Creative setting. Simple goals to survive. And an exciting "vehicle" to carry the story forward.
The goal was to obtain fuel and water to survive. Simple. Yet FR played to the lowest common denominator and changed it to some sob story about wives and a kidnapped slave-daughter's betrayal.
I'll stop there but I'll say one last thing, why do you need CGI when your main stunts are car chases? They become unbelievable and gimmicky when CGI is used too much IMO. |

I was stunned at the tone of yesterday's blog. Carol actually seemed critical of management's overall record so far. Surprising.
I think the next three years are going to be rough. I just hope Trevor and JB figure it out for the franchise's sake. |

Back-back top 5 picks is a huge start. At least we finally have a few prospects to be excited about. I honestly don't care about wins and losses. I won't for a few seasons. |

Per Sekeres, Panthers are expected to ask Canucks for permission to speak with Travis Green Would be hilarious if he didn't even want the job |
