Quick question. Someone posted a link to Oskar Lindblom about being good every shift and I can't find it now. Can anyone repost it? - youarewrong

What is the deal here? Would a year burn off his deal if he played? Is that it? - Just5
Nope. Contract won't kick in until next year regardless. I believe he's on an ATO right now, so he can play without contract repercussions. It's their choice to not play him. I imagine he'll play like 1 game at the end, and then sit all playoffs too. I assume that's what other teams do for their top prospects.......right?.......right? |

But why??? Seriously, why?
Also, why isnt Hextall making a call to Gordon telling him to play Friedman?
This makes me think Hextall is on board with not playing Friedman.

He will sit tomorrow night. It'll be all hands on deck to try and nail down home ice.
I think it's crazy. Playoffs are locked up. Friedman is part of the future play him |

He's 100% on board. He strikes me as pretty hands-off, but if he wanted Friedman to get game action to prepare for the playoffs, he would. I assume Gordon communicates that this is the roster he feels is best to help their seeding (which is what they're doing now), and Hextall agrees.
But instead Lamarche, who I assure you is a complete and utter ECHL tweener plug, plays over one of our top prospects every game. Friedman is 21 and has 3 years of college experience. He's significantly more talented. He's been signed and practicing for 3 weeks or something, on good faith leaving a year early from college. They haven't even been doing well! Phantoms have been choking down the stretch left and right. They even played 3 games in 3 days, and got demolished in the first 2 games, and he didn't play the third. Instead of treating him like the potential ace up the sleeve that he is, he's a spare part. I mean words can't express my hatred for Scott Gordon, coach. Been pretty consistent on that all season. |

I wouldn't even be surprised if this AHL all-star team, who Hexy has bent over backwards to set up for a deep run, got bounced in the first round. That culture though is lit. |

Unfortunately, i almost never see a Phantoms game so i miss out on watching alot of the kids.
I know you have been beating the Gordon drum all season and hearing, reading about something like this, as well as the other issues you have brought up through out the season, is alot concerning.
I know, Gordon wants to win, but to me, Hextall should be preaching to Gordon to play the kids not some nobody that wont ever see the light of day on the parent club.
I also agree with what you have stated before, which is the Phantoms should play the same system as the Flyers. It would make transitioning from the AHL to the NHL alittle easier for the kids as it is one less thing they need to stress, worry or think about.

You know that you can never destroy him. If it's not Bob, it's something else. Like us drafting Goulbourne over Guentzel, who is helping take down Bob. He's always lurking, waiting, plotting in the sewers he calls home.

Oh did you also know that Hagg has a grand total of 1 shot between Wednesdays game and tonight's game? Back to doing Brennan's dirty work and making all the safe plays
Watching Hagg the other day pissed me off. Yeah it was not your run of the mill NHL game. Looked more like an AHL game but Hagg had 5 shots....2 or 3 dangerous ones when he joined the rush looking good at it. The games I've seen of the phantoms this isn't an option for him. Never happens |

I mean, I'm not thrilled with Hakstol's systems either
More in the o-zone though with the endless point shots and blue line funneling. Elsewhere is fine. Obviously Lehigh is a smaller/speedy team, and need their own offensive tweaks to maximize them (probably wouldn't hurt playing like the Penguins), but not in any zone do they bear resemblance. Not in any facet. Gaps are loose, forwards don't back check, every puck is lobbed out for home run plays because they have no real breakout strategy, they constantly get hemmed in their own end, and they just play a horrible style of hockey. It's antiquated. If they don't score on the rush or PP, they're (frank)ed. Forget personnel issues. Just for the sake of organizational competence, you'd think they'd play similarly, if not a carbon copy. Scott Gordon and 7th year AHL assistant coach Riley Cote are the ones molding our prospects, and that should make you queasy. |

Just 1 game, but I have never seen him look like he did that game. It was really surprising. He goes back down and the switch is turned back off, and he's the Hagg I'm used to. Why can't he be that down there? You'd think someone would put 2 and 2 together besides the general and bland and not particularly revealing, "The NHL is more structured!" Fine, but that's not an excuse for a total lack of it down there. I watch junior teams with more structure. "Structure" is basically shorthand for coaching anyway. Why CAN'T they be more structured? You saw it with Morin too where he actually could transition plays because forwards weren't (frank)ing each other at the opponent's blue line cheating for a lob. |

Not sure if this was shared, but some interesting / good quotes from Hexy and G in this, and even a nice one from Jake. Hexy's confidence in Giroux is comforting. The one quote that made me feel better about Giroux's season and that he wil bounce back, "I know this: I'll be shocked next year if you guys don't ask me in January how has 'G' turned this around? He's a very driven athlete. Very driven. I know he's going to train hard this year. We're going to make some minor tweaks in how he trains. He trains hard, but can he train smarter? Yeah. That's an area we're going to work on this summer, to have our guys train hard but put a few more wrinkles in."
Curious to what Hexy meant by smarter though. |

A Flyers fan getting jacked up relying on the Penguins to beat someone is hilarious and pathetic at the same time.
The Flyers have been the corn in the Penguins poop the last quarter century.
Bobrovsky will win his Vezina, the Penguins will make a run at another Cup, and the Flyers will continue being irrelevant!
You win!!!!
