Next season is not already written. There are a lot of unknown factors with the changes. Listing vets who are gone, or had a downturn, as the reason for continued futility is a limiting factor. 2nd round picks and later are cheap to acquire usually. Drafting players like Alex Formenton, Jaret Anderson-Dolan (who looked real good yesterday playing for u18) are only days from missing the cut and being drafted next season.

I heard the Sedins say they will have a bounce back year next year. It is the worst thing that can happen for two reasons. We move further away from a top draft spot and management might be tempted to extend them.

The Sedins won't have a bounce back year because they won't get the icetime there are use too. JB and TL mentioned they want a couch to work with the youth, you will see the young guys that gain the extra icetime.

Lots of teams will bite on Edler/Tanev. We really need a pick like Cal Foote in the 10-20 range. PHI CAR DET MTL have consistently shown interest in Edler and I'm hearing things out of EDM they may look at Tanev if they are dumped out early of PO's. EDM does need a little more actual defensive stability back there Tanev may be the ticket and Chiarelli has looked at him in the past.
