Not everyone is going to be a defensive stud doesn't mean that won't get a shot. - manvanfan
He has had shots....San Jose judged him not ready...twice..traded him, Willie saw him score a goal and benched him several times and gave him very low mins. Running theme from both organizations...they feel he's not ready. |

Granlund and Eriksson could cover his defensive deficiency's - manvanfan
Needs a fast center with an all three zones game, they don't have that. Everything revolves around having great centers....something they should concentrate on IMO. |

Goldy reminds me of a Hossa type player...largely invisible for large stretches and at the end of 60 mins he has 2 goals and 2 assists. You sit there like how the (frank) did he do that - Bullfrog77
Hossa is a horse & strong on his feet 200' all situation player |

Just talking from his offensive game....Goldy will never be a two way player of Hossa calibre. |

Typically teams aren't willing to move down more that three to five spots with only getting an extra pick out of the deal. So that's about all you're gonna get with just a picks for picks deal. - LeftCoaster
I agree on principle, but two seconds one right at the top... anyway, I hope it's more toward the top of yor range |

If the Sedin's are re-signed after this upcoming season, I will take a break from watching Canucks play. That will be twice since 1970 that I will have stopped watching my beloved Canucks, both times will be because of the Sedin's. I absolutely despise the style in which they play.

Except Hossa is one of the best defensive wingers in NHL history, whereas Goldy it appears may not backcheck let alone create turnovers. - neem55
With the right linemates he'll stand out more. I guess Goldy's defensive game could improve over time or with the right coaching. But yeah can't see him ever being a Hossa type there. It's okay though if he's producing. He's got the right offensive instincts that can mesh well and make a line produce, don't you think? |

I'm not a fan of the Patrick kid, he's good, but I wouldn't pick him first overall. Also, I don't think any kid from the top of this years draft is ready to step into the NHL. |

Oh totally. We've go at a lot of 200 Ft guys. Goldy can really shoot, I've liked him so far. Boeser too, handsy around that net. We've needed these two basic skill sets for a while now. Dahlen sounds similarly offensives minded, it's why like Hirshier |

Hossa is one of the best two way players in the game, big, fast, defensively sound player that puts up points.... nothing like goldy, come back at recess with a different take please... |

If he wasn't injuried so much. Whomever was picking first would come out like TB did in 2008 and say we are taking Stamkos. A McDavid vs Eichel. |

Yup....Sven wasn't ready either...took a trade and an amazingly patient coach. I remeber everyone here slugging Willie for sticking with him that first season. And when he finally embraced a 200 ft mentality his game took off. That's where Goldy needs to get too... |
