I think guhle's in this coming season - Michael Pachla
Would u have Gorges on the bench then?
Right now I'm assuming we sign Antipin,
& make a trade to bring in another top4 guy
I'll believe we dump Gorges &/or Bogosian when it happens |

pretty sure Columbus learned something about that game...probably expended so much energy in the first that they couldn't handle what pit threw at them later in the game...jackets are young, fast, talented and pretty deep...game-2 should be interesting - Michael Pachla
Should be a long series |

am thinking it would have to be either kuli or a trade for a top-four and that one of bogo or gorges would go
could be something like:
risto-McCabe
antipin-kuli/new player
bogo/gorges-guhle
falk
am I missing anybody? |

Bylsma is getting fired next week, right?
I mean, has a GM ever gone so far out of his way to throw his head coach under the bus as GMTM did during yesterday's presser?
He's my coach today. Tomorrow? Who knows?
Too much time on the opposition.
Too much time spent on systems.
Too little time getting to know our players.
Too little time coaching our players.
If Bylsma keeps his job, it will be because Pegula doesn't want to pay another fired employee.

Columbus was just all over them in the first I think it was 16 -2 in shots
Then Columbus just let them take over the game in the second
But if they keep up that kind of offense it might make up for their defensive struggles - GERBE!!!75PTS
Did they? Or did Pittsburgh just wake up? Why is it always the losing teams fault? "They choked". Why is it never because of a magnificent performance by the winning team? |

If they had that fire that they had in the first. I believe they would have had a back-and-forth match
But after those two goals it just looked like they lost their energy

That looks right to me
I think Guhle is here IF we can get rid of Gorges or Bogo, or both
But if they're BOTH still here,
then it looks like Guhle would start in Rochester & get called up when there's an injury
And I would be ok bringing back Kulikov on a 1 year deal
Start him on 3rd pair with Bogosian
Take some pressure off them & let them get their confidence back
They're both better players than we saw last year
Not that they're All-Stars,
But both are capable defensemen

Ovechkin is going to throw a huge wrench into the works. He's reiterated that he's going no matter what, and didn't soften after the NHL decided not to go. - Wetbandit1
Understood. And, he can do whatever he likes. But the NHL needs to suspend him then. When a team pays you 10 million a year to play for them, you don't get to ditch your employer and all those fans who support and pay your contract because something else came up and you would like to do that instead of going to work. Sure, everyone would love to tell their employer to go pound sand and that they're going to take a month off to pursue personal goals, but that's not how the world works. If he thinks the KHL pays like the NHL, he's flat out wrong. He has a commitment to the NHL and the Capitals just like they have committed to him. He needs to honor that or face the consequences. |

He does, but he's never been that hard on Bylsma. And he didn't exactly endorse him either. I think it was a "cover my ass, but keep my options open." thing since he has yet to meet with Pegula, and as we've seen Pegula can be a bit mercurial. |

That's not how our world works. But professional sports is a whole different animal. The players run the show. No one is going to black ball Ovechkin. Russia would love to have him back, and he's made more than enough money at this point from the NHL, I think Bauer/Nike would still sponsor him even in the KHL.
I don't think he cares if he gets suspended. Leonsis is behind him too. Publicly anyway. I just don't think he's going to blink. It's going to get messy. |

murray said he was pleasantly surprised at Austin and I totally agree...he's pretty mobile for a 6'4" defenseman but he needs more seasoning...enter falk |

Agreed. and, that's sad that players can treat their employers and fans that way. If any player on the Sabres roster chooses to ditch the team mid-season next year for the Olympics, I'm totally okay with with them being suspended for the rest of the season, including playoffs. I understand their point of view and playing for gold for your country, I get it, it's a big deal, but sometimes you need to make sacrifices for for the people who have committed to you so heavily. And, if Ovi is done with the NHL then, so be it. Then NHL watched kovolchuk and Radulov walk and nobody lost any sleep over it. |

People go to watch the players, not management and ownership. That gives them a tremendous amount of power. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. It just is. I don't necessarily disagree with you. Ovechkin is better than Kovalchuk and Radulov put together and then some. They do not want to lose him, and will do a ton to accommodate him. Even his owner is ok with him taking leave to go. Sure the Caps will be fine without him for 3 weeks or so, but the Sabres would be sunk without Eichel for instance. Like I said, it's going to get messy. |
