Funny thing about that card was that Pro Set was pretty much the most over produced worthless collectors cards of the early 90's, and even then virtually all cards of the 90's held almost no value due to over productions. But, when that discovery was made right before P. Kane was selected 1st overall in 2007, that card with from being worth a nickel to trading for upwards of $15.

Some would argue Mario was better than Wayne but we will never know for sure because of the herpes caused cancer he had.

Seriously, look it up.

He would have at the very least, IMO, broken the all-time goal record if he didn't miss so many games and 3 full seasons due to injury, not to mention the only truly elite player he ever played with was Jagr (well, Crosby but he hardly even played those seasons).

I honestly think he would have hit at least 900, possibly even 1,000 goals if he had the health of Gretzky and the talent surrounding him that Gretzky had in his Edmonton days.

what is it you think you're going to accomplish here? If you stomp your feet enough, gripe and cry endlessly, we'll eventually cave and say Matthews is generational?

NOBODY here thinks Matthews is generational, and that's because Matthews simple is not a generational talent after 1 decent season. No other teams' fans on this website think he's generational, either, because he's not. Period. Only Leaf fans are too blind to see that. Larkin had a good rookie campaign, is he generational? How about Ghostbishere?

Dude. Every 10 years or so, a new generation of players gets drafted. The average hockey career is 7 years. Do the (frank)ing math. It makes more than enough sense that every decade is a new generation of players, give or take a few years.

AUSTON "Judd Nelson lended me his nostrils" MATTHEWS is simply NOT a generational player. He's already very good and should have a great career but he's nowhere near McDavid (lol), who has already surpassed Crosby as the best player in the NHL.

Now go watch your team lose to Washington and come back down to Earth next season.
