Check it out if you can it's kind of long to post, it's either under the article about Eichel or the one with Murray and Pegula, I think it's under the Eichel article.

This one?

I think it was a bit harsh, but he does need to grow up a bit and stop the sulking, woe is me thing. It's not a good look. Lehner hates to lose too, but you don't see that from him, he steps up, answers the questions, speaks quite freely, probably more so than the coach would like, and is quite intense, but not pouty and overly dramatic. Eichel could learn a thing or two from him.

He's saying Petersen can become a UFA on June 1st. What about 8/15? Or is that just for players completely done with eligibility?

Thanks, that's the one I thought, I wasn't sure if there was another one.

Like I said nobody is on the same page in this organization, from the players to the coaches to the management. Somebody needs to bring them together as unit.

I agree, and winning usually does that. Everything is magnified 100x when you don't.

Bylsma is the leader and you lead by example but Bylsma is to arrogant to change his ways. Murray better have some good answers for Pegula or it may be just the same ole thing.

Just read it. Some of the criticism is probably deserved, but it's too harsh overall

I think Eichel has the right to say what he said, some of these players are just going through the motions and that's not the way it should be.

It might be "too harsh" overall, but not by that much. Jack Eichel is going to be the face of this franchise for quite a while, as he should be, but the reality is he is a 20-year old that hasn't won a damn thing in this league. In fact, he hasn't really "won" much at any level. "His" US World Junior teams were a no-show versus Canada, and then in the medal round versus Russia, both years he was on it. He also came up short at Boston University when it came to the National Championship. And make no mistake, that was a game his team should have won. They simply got beat when they should not have.

I agree about his dealings with the media. Being captain is going to be a huge weight on his shoulders, but I think he can handle it.

I don't really see what his previous failures have to do with anything here though.

They have a lot to do with them. If you're going to call out your team for not doing what it takes to win when it matters most, you better have the track record to back it up. And that's the one thing Jack Eichel has yet to obtain, at any major level.

This is not to say that Jack Eichel doesn't have the ability to win big. It's simply saying that he still has yet to prove he does.

Meh. I don't think anything Jack has said has been too far or unwarranted

I bet you could get Simon Despres on the cheap after his injury this year and Anaheim's expansion situation

edit: his concussion issues scare me but he's a solid top 4 guy when healthy

I guess what I am saying is this: I would rather a young Jack Eichel wait until he's established his reputation as a winner before I hear him rattling off criticisms, especially on a team that's been mired in a losing culture for far too long.

Bad luck to me is being 2nd in the NHL in shots on goal, but having the 24th best shooting %. Especially when the previous year they were 11 spots higher.

Another sign of misfortune is outplaying most teams and having BOTH your goalies suck. They were 28th in 5 on 5 Sv%.

- sbroads24

WOW!!!

If u seriously mean what u just said,
Then there's no talking to u anymore...

Bad goalie play = bad luck
Um, no...
That's dumb!!!

When Price got hurt...
that was bad luck for Montreal
Rask has been average at best for 2 seasons now
That's not bad luck
It's bad PLAY

The goalie is the most important part of your team
If they suck... it isn't bad luck
It's a major defect in your team that keeps you from being "really" good

I said before the season, it was a mistake to let Schaller and Ruhwedel go, good organizational depth, Hindsight GM has spoken
- macman9

I thought it was very curious myself
Actually thought Schiller was ready to move up & be our 4C
And Ruhwedel the 7th defenseman

Hindsight, for sure
But even at the time it seemed strange to not re-sign them

It made perfect sense to not resign them. But it made no sense to not sign replacement depth.

I didn't "hate" it at the time
But I don't see how it made any sense?
They were both decent players who were about to move up for us

BTW watching this Eichel presser right now. Harrington is a jamoke.

He looked defeated, depressed and embarrassed. He looks awkward, he's 20. Not used to media pressers. He was hardly rolling his eyes, he was analyzing the questions as they were asked, didn't throw anyone under the bus and finished the presser strong.

By this logic, Tim Murray did the same damn thing as Eichel at his presser, he's just more used to it.

They're both 26. They've never shown poope. They're basically one step above Grant. It was absolutely time to move on. 26 and never made the NHL club, I don't care how they're doing elsewhere, they weren't right for the team.

The Ducks won because a puck deflected off a skate at the top of the face off circle, flew 15 the other way and went in.

Yeah, luck never plays a part in team success
