I agree. I don't think the Leafs will end up like the 2014 Avs either. It's just the point is that the Avs fan base didn't expect the results that they got after their Cinderella season, either. They have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall pick in their offense and it produced magic for only one season.

As for Murray, he is arrogant, and it looks like he's been knocked down a peg or two. We might be better finding someone else, but I'd be willing to give him another year now that he's had a reality check. Disco needs to go, though.

I don't understand where Murray come off as arrogant, (adj.) (full of or due to pride, haughty). He takes blame when things go wrong, he pretty much always tells it like it is. He didn't stand there during his press conference and say everything is fine. he talked about the flaws of his team open and honestly, He just didn't go into detail on how plans to address the problems., but I wouldn't stand there and tell the media my plans either. He knows damn well he could be shown the door tomorrow and I'm sure he would except that decision in a manly fashion.

Until Matthews, Marner, and Nylander have the same body of work as Ovi, Malkin, and Kane, you have nothing. You have three rookies with a lot of promise who barely got your team to squeak into the playoffs, that's reality. I never said that Leafs won't be good, they will, but the stench of arrogance coming from you guys is overwhelming.

Sutter isn't an attractive coach by any means. For this team anyway. We need a coach who thinks offence, plays a less stressful system and can get along with the young players. He doesn't do any of the above.

Ruff is the only big gun available that could turn this around. But again I'm looking elsewhere.

One of Ruff's biggest flaws was his inability to have any patience with younger players, to me, Bylsma was infuriating in that when a player came up from Rochester who was hot down there, He would throw him on the fourth line and hope for the same success. Now I'm not saying you plug him top 6 and leave him there, but you do try them with your best players to see if there is any fire with the smoke.

The Leafs could easily take a step back next year just like the Sabres this year. But I am pretty sure that Matthews won't be calling out his team like Eichel did. And I don't think Lou will have to kiss his ass with promises. Matthews is not a whiner.
