Plus it's a lot harder drafting an 18 year old (projecting what he'll turn into) than looking back at drafts 2-3 years ago and cherry picking players we should have picked. I liked sergachev a lot and would have been thrilled if we picked him, but to say chychrun would have been a good pick at #8 is ridiculous. First of all, he lasted to 16, secondly he was personal friends with the Pegulas. If he was worthy of #8, we would have taken him.
We should focus more on the future (and our 5 picks in the first 3 rounds + hopefully being lottery lucky) than doing this stupid retrospective re-drafting. Yeah I get it, the Bills were stupid for not drafting Brady too...... - turbo044

He popped in the other day, I had the bait in the water for about 5 minutes and he hit it hard. I said "we'd have had a better record with Ted Nolan this year." and he flipped out. It was beautiful.
Two other things, players in the last three drafts would probably not be with the sabres yet unless you propose drafting a dman instead of eichel or Reinhart.

Yeah than you would have b*tched he overreached for Mac, as he was the 15th rated prospect. Sergachev is the only one you should be being bringing up as an alternative here.
Do this exercise. Watch how good william nylander is now, and take into account ALL of the analysts say Alex is as good maybe a better prospect than William. Now picture Alex, when he matures, with Captain Jack for the next 12 years. Side point: the player who played the most minutes with Jack this year was Foligno. Case closed. Any other questions?

That should never happen. Hell I don't even think Foligno deserves a shot anywhere above 4th line.
