Liljegren pointless & -5 in the tourney... Can his fanboys please remind me why they like him better than Makar? - DrChristianTroy
Taking either of them in the top 5 would be a stretch.
Be it BPA or positional need, I don't think either one should be on Benning's list. |

I don't see us picking Liljgren anyways.
Makar will be interesting to see when & where he goes. |

Most of the teams af the top of the draft need top D but thats normal lol
This draft could see some trading maybe. |

Thanks Carol...I totally agree that the Canucks need a better defensive system, they can still lose but they have to play a better structural game with a new coach. Quenneville would be sweet!!! I doubt he'd choose Vancouver though. - LeftCoaster
First step for a better D get rid of Edler |

I was high on Liligren* when I assumed we where going to be picking later.
That said, I'm still a pretty firm believer in not taking D-men/goalies in the first round. |

Ha.....damn Swedes!! Considering they don't have much skill, top line players or a top pairing defense they've gotta play as a five man unit. I'm not sure who gave up the most shots this year but they had to be close to the top? |

Not talking about Edler now but I don't want Dmen that just eat minutes. I want 6 players that create or destroy. Either attack or punish. I hate the chase style we play. |

You play defense as a collective unit, when you have a better team in front of you it also helps. Desjardins was responsible for the teams defense structure. |

I am not blaming any coach because there have been three of them. It is no coincidence that players that leave the Canucks flourish on other teams . Same as the coaches that leave here flourish .
We have been soft and suck since 2011 |

We can move him hopefully & not much changes.
Ufa plug if needed or if OJ forces his way in would be fine.
No matter how it goes down next season should be more about new systems & the PP & PK & make it competitive to make the team. |

You need guys with different skill-sets, Edler plays a lot of tough minutes and he gets tired. When that happens, mental breakdowns happen. If they had better guys in front of him and reduced his minutes, he'd be fine.
That's my opinion. He was 18th in TOI/GP in the entire NHL, that's a problem. |

Yep no question the team sucks, but you can still be bad and give up way less scoring chances, that's my point. |

Other teams have no problems of crashing the net or playing hard in front of our net . there is no push back.
Edler is a pure minute muncher . He doesn't add a spark , he doesn't protect he just defends. |

Again, I agree, but that's not his job. His job is to move the puck to the forwards and defend. I'd be more than happy if they got rid of him for someone with a bit more edge, that said, they've gotta be good at doing their job, which is playing defense. |
