That look needs to happen regardless. - sskkoo1
Maybe? But injuries and a couple of players didn't work out?but that happens, to be successful you need a no.1 center you guy's have that,a elite dman Risto will be that imo,top goaltender and you have that too (if he can stay healthy )and top wingers Nylander, Reinhart, ennis, Kane, opsoy, and some franking luck! Your draft and July 1st, plus maybe a trade or two and the team will see playoffs! Also Dans a good coach but maybe not right for this team at this point? |

The real question is: which one of them drove? - buffalofan19
You're talking about the golf cart, right? Because the guy who drove the cart is definitely more captain material. He leads the pairing on finding drives and pace of play.... |

I have a hard time believing Zaitsev will maintain this play for 7 years. - buffalofan19
You're right... Because he's only going to improve.
He's only 25 and has adjusted very well into the NHL in his first season on a team full of rookies. D-men also don't hit the primes for a few more years. |

My Ambien is kicking in pretty hardcore right now, but is that Jamie McGinn with Ennis, ROR and Foligno? The sunglasses are throwing me off.
Foligno for McGinn Arizona holds $1M, and Arizona's 3rd. At least this way someone that doesn't have stone hands can play with Jack, and maybe be his Kunitz. - Wetbandit1
I still can't tell who that is lol. At first I thought maybe Lehner but he's not tall enough.
It could be McGinn |

It does take some time for a defenseman to hit their prime it typically happens when they're 23-25, you can' t say someone is only 25 in the NHL. 25 is a player's prime |

Can you admit that there is another career arc for the guy besides "only going to improve"?
I understand you're hyped up about your guy but it is possible you've seen the best of him already and he never plays to this level again. Everyone, including myself, has had prospect bias and thinks that their team's prospects will trend perfectly but the fact is that probably won't happen for majority of your rookies & prospects, even the ones that your Leafs had such a good time watching this year. |

Oh, I completely agree. And, the more I look at this team the more I think that fixing the defense will far and way turn the team around. Old expensive vets who don't have it anymore have to get off the roster. #1 in pp and almost dead last in defensive scoring, that's a huge problem. Our offense will be fine, but any offense needs a defense to chip in every once in a while. |

Brendan Guhle is penciled in for a roster spot with the Sabres next season.
The smooth-skating, puck-mover suited up in three games with Buffalo in December and he impressed the team's brass. "He played very well for us," GM Tim Murray said. "You can't get too excited because short term can fool you, but I don't think he's fooling anybody. He's a tremendous skater. He's got skill. He is what we need. We need our D to get up in the play and become that second wave of attack that we didn't have much of this year." Guhle accounted for 29 points in 32 contests with the WHL's Prince George Cougars after he was acquired from Prince Albert. He also had one goal and one assist in six outings with Rochester of the AHL. |

Cole Schneider is eligible for unrestricted free agency, but he would like to stay with the Sabres organization.
"I like it here," he said. "It's close to home. They're a great organization, take great care of us. I would like to come back." Schneider amassed 63 points in 71 games with Rochester, which placed him sixth overall in the AHL. He also had one assist in four outings with the Sabres. |
