There is no quick fix for the Sabres and GMTM. Maybe another tank year is in order. The Leafs are going to dominate the division and the conference for the next several years. A slow and steady rebuild and maybe we can catch them in 5-7 years.

Toronto spends 7MM on Shattenkirk and they are still only at 52MM with all positions except back up goalie and 11-12th forward filled.

I'm jealous of how that team is built.

I feel like their defense overacheived this season. They barely squeaked past a TB team whose best player started <20 games. They have a ton of youth which is generally positive but doesn't necessarily mean all will continue playing how they did this year.

Last season I said Tampa would be better not Florida though.
I thought Toronto would be good relatively soon, but not this fast.

What do the Leafs have in the pipeline that the NHL is not seeing yet? Kirby Rachel, maybe? They're going to be good, no doubt about that, but how much better is the question?

Nylander and Guhle are at least two key pieces that should be solid for us and are not in Sabres' uniforms yet, we will add another top 9 pick this summer, so we still have some quality on its way.
