2. Why would "the team" pass this message to GM through Jack but not the Captain?

3. Maybe Gionta is one of the guys who support Bylsma and the others didn't trust him to deliver the message the way they wanted it delivered?

The team knows who has the most power (Eichel) him delivering the message holds more weight than Gio, IMO.

If this is indeed true, and the team did give him the message to deliver. Then Eichel is captain next year. No doubt about it.

Either way there is a stink about this team right now and it needs to be fixed.

If the "team" gave Eichel the message then it's pretty clear who the locker room looks to as their leader.

Also pretty clear Gionta, Gorges and a couple others who were brought in to be "leaders" and to teach the younger guys the ropes aren't the leaders they were cracked up to be.
