What's worse waiting for the lotto drop or waiting for the draft?
Neither. As that's the only desire that some want for many seasons to come. |

bad call after review. Wasn't in the crease, minimal contact that did not impede Anderson making the save. Distracting the goalie for being too close isn't grounds for interference in my books - WhiteLie
Bettmanhatesus would say that the league wants Toronto to win |

Watching that TOR game shows high picks, smarts and luck can speed up the rebuild process. Shanahan turned that ship around pretty quick. |

They let their talent simmer too. Nylander, Brown, Kapanen all probably were better than some of their NHL players a couple seasons ago but they kept them in the AHL to hone their skills and finally in their first full seasons all produced and are playing big roles well |

Anderson knew what he was doing ...I'd like to see that called a goal and then maybe goalies will worry about stopping the puck and not minimal contact affecting them from making a save for the rest of a shift |

They kept them down to tank for Mathews. It wasn't a development decision. |

I bet if they get him to come he takes over the operations side. All hockey related matters for organizational needs of team and players. Hires or advises next coaches for NHL and AHL as well. Where TL does the rep stuff with league and community. Talks to owners too. |

It definitely had some to do with both.
They brought Nylander over from Europe and sent him right to AHL, then started the next season in the AHL and was brought up for the last 22 games.
Marner wasn't ready physically, sent back
Kapanen, Brown both spent about 2 seasons with the Marlies and Hyman spent a season in the AHL after 4 years in NCAA.
Keeping them all down had very less to do with tanking and more about letting them develop properly |

It seems they need more direction/expertise on the hockey side of things. I think TL is in over his head in these areas. |

Thank the hockey gods that Toronto lost, that team started to dive on checks and wasn't impressed with Anderson initiating the goalie interference. |

They tanked for Mcdavid too. But lost out. If the players weren't ready okay will give you that. However, if they were they had no desire to improve to bring them on.
Player development isn't linear or one way necessarily. What makes a player ready isn't clear cut. A lot of trial and error may follow. Anyway, all for trying to see what works. |

With all the talk about Ralph Krueger.....why would he want to be the coach of the Canucks when he is the chair of an English premier team? What would be the incentive? - Kaynine

I think this post looks like a good place to make my statement.
I have been extremely lenient to pretty much all the Canuck posters in here. I allowed guys to mock and criticize because at first it was all done in jest.
Well things have been getting a little out of hand lately, these actions look bad on Carols Blog and me as your ref, so I am going to start being a little more heavy handed, the personal attacks on some posters is terrible, and it has to stop. Regardless if they speak in biblical riddles or proclaim to be a brain surgeons or Walmart greeters or Alberta's gift to engineering, people make opinionated statements and as long as they are not in contravention of the CoC it's permitted.
6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers What isn't permitted is....quote---"No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful. Talk more about hockey and less about each other. Although playful banter is allowed, that does not mean anything goes, if the banter breaks any part of the code of conduct, it isn’t playful and it is not acceptable. When “Player X stinks" turns into "You stink" you've crossed the line. And yes, the Moderators decide where the line is.
7. No trolling and no feeding the trolls
All posters are welcome in all threads, regardless of team loyalty, to discuss hockey. But do not post merely to inflame or disrupt.
Do not engage those who are out to disrupt the thread. Simply hit the post report button "!" and the Mods will deal with it from there.
Do not correct the spelling and grammar of other posters. Their errors may make you question how much credence to give their opinions, that’s up to you, but correcting their lapses is rude and trollish.
And this is for everyone...It is not against the rules for someone to disagree with you.
Thanks for your attention, I'll be keeping an eye on things if needed. - Makita
