Just more egg on Benning Linden and Aquilini's face. That 2014 draft that I thought could be their best ever turns out to be just blah - LeftCoaster
This isn't on management. TL and JB have said for a while that he was part of the core moving forward, which means the icetime will come. He's using that as an excuse because he misses his momma. I can see this being on management if he was here for a few yrs and the icetime was the case, but after 1yr? This is on him!

you're being dramatic. Tryamkin isn't make or break. Nichushkin left and stars still retain. Sobotka left and Blues still retained and brought him back. The sky isn't falling. - Codes1087
No didn't say that. Just pointing out how tanking is dangerous and that extra care is needed in keeping players on board for a future. Plus the $ is key too. |

Regardless, this looks bad. He wasn't a liabilty and why Larsen got 1 minute of ice time is beyond me. What a clusterf*ck! - Marwood
WD at his best.
Likely due to the pp deployment. U know, Larsen was so valuable on the pp. |

Even if the Eichel rumours are only part true, it's pretty scary when these kids who are still on their ELC have this kind of influence on an organization.
Eichel strikes me as a whiny entitled douche brat. - As_I_See_It
But he's just as good as McDavid or Matthews! |

No but this is a significant step back in the rebuild. Hopefully he's back... it's like when the Hulk goes into hiding when you need him most. Tree mad - neem55

I think we both know that. More concerned that this is a long-term thing and I think hurts his devleopment |

Remember that Boston game. Edler gets walked by Marchand and after the game WD blasts Tree. Saying if he was tougher that would't have happend? Something like that anyway. Everyone was like....um Edler got walked. Sedin got walked. That was probably the last straw.
So here's the thing. WD is gone. Tree still left. You would think he'd stick around to see who the new coach would be. Unless:
* He just wants more money
* He wants to play in the olympics
Either way the Canucks just got kicked while they were down. This sucks arse.
Looks to me that he is just too impatient on hitting that big payday in the NHL. f*#! Russians.
- storm88
I think the Russians are very persuasive like that. They can promise him all the money he wants, tell him he has a great shot at the Olympics, all the motherland glory. I dont know if there was anything TL/JB can do to compete with that, you want to make promises but also not hand him everything
Kinda gives legs to (I think it was) Don's story that he wasnt well liked/received in the room. Had a one foot in, one foot out mentality from day 1 with that KHL clause. |

The little faith I had in management is gone, perhaps that's not a bad thing as we truly have to hit the bottom like Colorado did. It will just will make it all that much harder to sell tickets in this market. Apathy has truly set in. |

I disagree, management has to take some heat for this, they're the ones who wanted to "compete" and thereby play veteran players and employ a coach who threw this kid under the bus on one occasion.
Just disappointed they're really starting over from the 2015 draft not the 2014 draft. Having Boeser, Demko and Juolevi out of three drafts now is just blah. Great young prospects but so many missed opportunities. |

Good points. I see the Olympic factor too. Though if you call a guy core moving forward and don't throw down the $ when he's RFA or assure him of top 4 playing role. Then he's got less reason to stick around. Anyway, they can get Tree here with $ and move out the vets if they are serious about getting better.

We will have to wait and see what kindof contract he receives over in the K in order to truly understand his motives.

meh, we retain his rights. Going over to the KHL, in a winning culture, playing 25 minutes a night won't be the worst thing for him. Instead of playing 14-17 minutes a night with guys like Biega and Larsen and having your confidence shattered everytime you make a mistake. I don't know why everyone sees this as an overall bad thing. We still retain his rights. Let him mature at him and play big minutes in the KHL |

I think bringing Miller back + a decent free agent signing could get us in that garbage-y 18-24 range just out of the playoffs |

he spent 4 seasons in the KHL and was still very raw getting here. I hope he remains diligent in applying the lessons learned here, otherwise he will probably not make it back |

Nobody is talking about talent here. And no, as of now Eichel is not on the same level as McDavid and Matthews.... And Matthews isn't on the same level as McDavid. |

Judging by his on-ice demeanor I still find that hard to believe.
He was always the first to lend a helping hand to injured guys and always seemed animated and vocal while on the bench but hey, i suppose you never really know. |
