Why the heck do we want Travis as our head coach? Seriously when the heck was the last time he developed anyone at all???? He sat horvat didnt play hutton has produced zero players that can play in the nhl at all. I am so completely lost on why we would want him other than he is the new Dallas Eakins flavour of the month.

EDM put kids on the ice and told them to be superstars from game 1, made them the leaders and played them 20+mins a night when they werent ready for that. We are limiting ice time, to let them slowly get used to the league. This is a good option for a kid like OJ(provided he gains muscle) for the start of the season. After 9-15 games if he doesn't belong send him down to London after having a taste of the big show. Worked wonders for Draisatl.

This is exactly my point. Posters are saying these kids need to earn a spot...well, newsflash, they already have because our roster sucks. So how do you determine if a kids skillset is high enough based on some league wide based metric? Interesting discussion for sure. I think if a kid deserves a spot in the top 6 or top 9 they should play. No young, high pedigree prospects should be on the 4th line or the 7th Dman.

Vancouver is (frank)ed up. I get Jagr playing at his age making 4 mil showing the kids how hard you need to work . We have two guys at 14 mil teaching the exact same thing

I think this post looks like a good place to make my statement.

I have been extremely lenient to pretty much all the Canuck posters in here. I allowed guys to mock and criticize because at first it was all done in jest.

Well things have been getting a little out of hand lately, these actions look bad on Carols Blog and me as your ref, so I am going to start being a little more heavy handed, the personal attacks on some posters is terrible, and it has to stop. Regardless if they speak in biblical riddles or proclaim to be a brain surgeons or Walmart greeters or Alberta's gift to engineering, people make opinionated statements and as long as they are not in contravention of the CoC it's permitted.

6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers What isn't permitted is....quote---"No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful. Talk more about hockey and less about each other. Although playful banter is allowed, that does not mean anything goes, if the banter breaks any part of the code of conduct, it isn’t playful and it is not acceptable. When “Player X stinks" turns into "You stink" you've crossed the line. And yes, the Moderators decide where the line is.

And this is for everyone...It is not against the rules for someone to disagree with you.

Players enjoy playing for him, he has iced a competitive team with a non-competitive roster every season. Good track record as a head coach in the WHL as well. 1000 games played in the NHL. A very intelligent man that excels at communication and works hard with prospects to help grow their game. anymore reasons required?

Yes....this is why it's important to have UFA's, even poopty ones, to limit the kids exposure. Unless you get a phenomenal kid like McDavid or Matthews. RNH was not ready to be a #1 center at 18 but they threw him out there to the wolves and they ate him.

The thing is, those guys are a lot cheaper than the Sedins or Sutter or Eriksson etc. Cap space that can be used to acquire assets during a rebuild.
