Murray hasn't mentioned Girgensons once when talking about the future of this team since going back to last year when he first started to suck also I believe he has been critical of his play going into this season and Girgensons didn't exactly detract those fears with his play this year. He won't have great trade value but at this point who cares? I'll take a change of scenery defenceman for him for instance or package him with Larsson or Foligno for a solid 4-5 guy.
As far as Moulson goes the hit won't be nearly as bad as it would've been this year. He's far, far too slow to be on a winning team now and just being on the roster means he could be back on Jacks LW and that scares me. If they don't buy him out it's not shocking at all if they bury him. Good teams do this ALL THE TIME. He's not going to get claimed once you realize him and if he somehow did then we should get down and thank our lucky stars. But if he goes to Rochester it saves us like 1-2 mill on cap and he can be a leader for younger players in the AHL. win win. - bluengold12
Sending Moulson to Rochester saves us essentially ZERO on the Cap
Technically, it's like a .9mil savings...
but that's about what the Cap hit would be for the replacement we bring up
Burying a guy doesn't help with that Cap anymore
They changed the rule
I kind of agree with you in theory that Moulson isn't fast enough anymore,
But he still contributes on the PP
And who would we bring up?
Baptiste maybe?
I'd be ok with that...
but it likely doesn't look good to the group to send Moulson down unless he's playing poorly

Ginota has to go - just has to - I like him, nice story, but hes washed up and not going to score when it counts - sure when we are down 4-1 in the 3rd and he scores - Aaron SChobel same type of player - garbage time moments. - -JCDC-
Idk if that true...
SBROADS, u around?
I'm sure he can find the stats to say when Gionta goals were scored |

Capgeek GM mode had it as a little more savings then that but maybe they're wrong.
As far the look? Who gives a damn how it looks. He is not a top six forward anymore, he's not a 3rd line defensive guy and he's not a modern 4th line energy, speed guy. Essentially he's worthless to this team. Literally any prospect would be better off here. And I believe we'll likely bring in someone via FA anyway. |

Wasnt being sarcastic - just "Not good' if he is still in there - he and ROR were 2 of my favorites BEFORE they were traded to my favorite team - like GMTM was reading my mind - - -JCDC-
I didn't think you were. Just the fact that he spent any time in the neuro surg ICU is not a good thing. |

Just NO. He needs to go. His time is up. I'd rather a 4th line of Foligno Rodriguez and another kid. Fasching maybe? put D-Lo and Moulson in Rochester and maybe if they earn it they can get called up if there's an injury. Also if Disco comes back you just know at some point he'll end up on Eichel's line for a few games at a time. |

Of all our bad contracts, Moulson is least likely to move. He can still chip in a little bit and isn't bad defensively.
His play doesn't hurt this team, it's just his contract. |

Of all our bad contracts, I believe he's the most productive. |

He's not getting traded. He's getting bought or sent to Rochester. Book it now.
As far as hardest to move that goes to BADgosian by a mile. He's paid compared to a top pairing defenceman for three more years he has the worst hockey sense I've ever seen and is incredibly injury prone. |

Does Capgeek exist again?
I thought it got shut down...
What vet is gonna want to sign here if we become known for burying guys?
Especially for young talent...
they don't produce like you're thinking
Carrier, Bailey, Rodrigues, Baptiste, Fasching... all played 10+ games
127gp, 14g-9a-23pts
Moulson
81gp, 14-18-32pts
If u do the math to make it equal games played,
The "prospects who would be better" would have only 15pts
And Carrier & Bailey saw a decent amount of time in the top6 |

I meant Capfriendly. My bad.
I can't believe someone is arguing keeping Moulson here and others are backing it up. What kind of bizarro world is this? Playoff teams do this all the time dude. It's called realizing you're stuck with an over the hill vet and doing what you can to keep him away from your young, growing team. Those rookies especially Baptiste and Bailey were yanked around all year if they played on one line consistently I'd bet they would be of better service to the team. |
