That 2010 Jets team was close, if not for totally not showing up in the First half (inexcusable) of the AFC championship gm in Pittsburgh, they were almost in the Super Bowl that yr & Sanchez somehow w a amazing defense won 4 playoff road games in 2 years. NFL Head Coaches now seem to just be 1 sided specialists, its strange. If the guy is a defensive guy, that's all he seems to know & his offensive cooridinator runs the other side & vice versa. It used to be there were an O guy & you had a D guy & the Head Coach was the go between both. I guess Ditka & Buddy Ryan & the 85 Bears started that trend.

I think that's true. But, I also think that there is a reason why the dynastic type teams have won. The Pats have Brady, the Niners had Montana and then young, the Cowboys had Aikman, the Steelers won a couple with Rothlisberger, etc. There are exceptions to the rule, but an elite QB will make a lot of decent coaches look better, and a poopty QB will make a lot of good coaches look worse. There are, of course, exceptions -- i.e., the Ravens with Dilfer.

Even Belicheck, he was a bust-out with the Browns, and was 5-11 and going the wrong direction the year before Brady took over. Hell, when Brady took over he was 0-2 that year. Not saying that he isn't arguably the best coach of all-time, but even he needed the QB.

Probably not. But in that graphic you see how much better certain players have been vs others.
