He almost swallowed his tongue getting ZIB-LAN-A-JAD out of his mouth w that excitement after the game winner.
And I hate to keep picking on Sam, but he made several more mistakes again last night. How about the hoopla over Skeij's 1st NHL playoff goal, only to say, "I;m sorry, it was not HIS 1ST PLAYOFF GOAL"? - B2B76
I thought he died last night in the booth.. there was like a 5 second pause of silence after he garbled out Zibanejad |

4 years 17M - 21peter
I don't know. Loving what Smith has brought so far, but isn't a little quick to go north of $4M/yr? I'd be happier with 4 for $14-15M.
I'm actually torn. I think my proposal is fair, but wouldn't want to lose him. |

Just wanted to say this, next year when Jesper Fast has 7 goals and 10 assists late in the year, and some are wondering whether the Rangers have better forth line options, and would prefer playing a guy who may score 12 goals in that spot, just remember these playoffs so far. And remember past ones. Jesper Fast is the perfect playoff fourth liner, period. - Pete V
Wise words. His teammates voted him the "players player" award for the second year in a row for a reason.

Off topic a bit. But I saw stat last night saying Lindberg had 100% CF. - tomburton99
Yeah, someone else posted that to. Thats nuts if right. That would pretty much be the holy grail of games for corsi nerds I'm guessing |

Me and PeteV definitely wanted G back for another year. We discussed it at length. As far as these other degenerates, I have no idea. |

Honestly, and this is just me, but I don't care how bad he screws up a couple of names. It's Sam, and it's going to be a very sad day for me when he retires. There is nobody I like listening to more, perhaps because I grew up listening to him.
And I though the call on the OT winner was gold.
- Pete V
Same here, I can really remember getting into the Rangers in the 1985-86 season as I've said before & Sam has always been our guy, the voice. He probably has at least 5/6 more years (minimum) left. He'll be 70 this year, it happens, he's not in Ralph Kiner or Scooter territory yet. Then again Vin Scully was a competent broadcaster into his 90s. All I know is it will be a very sad day when Sam retires, that celebration for him at the Garden will be epic. |

Yeah. Just means that Montreal didn't register a shot on goal when Lindberg was on the ice. |

Has a little bit to do with the fact that he is from the neighbouring town, but G has been one of my all-time favourite Rangers. |

You know, all these guys that we are praising still have plenty of time to (frank) up during these playoffs.
And the guys that we are killing have time to turn it around.
I wonder how are observations now will compare to our observations when it's done.

Its always funny pulling up old blogs to see how perceptions change.
I have no faith in Staal turning it around. I really think he is done. But i'm biased on that one cause I been saying it for a couple years now. |

Good point, sorry to bring up baseball but just 2 years ago with Daniel Murphy & the Mets was a great example. The guy was inhuman in the first 2 playoff rounds w epic numbers & Home Runs in 7 straight games. Guy makes a crucial error in the World Series helping the Mets lose & a lot of people said "F him". That's how a lot of fans are, what have you done for me lately. If Smith or Fast make some huge gaffe & we lose this series the talk completely shifts the other way. Fans. Pfft. |
