It's not useless, but it's not important either. Just interesting.

That lefty should.

I get that RHD are a priority for the Rangers, but that kid is going to end up being a steal because he's a tiny bit undersized. Just like the guy in that old article I posted the other day that said Karlsson was too small to ever be a good NHL defenseman.

I think Skjei and Smith have passed the eye test for us. Chart just confirms it.

Although G has been no slouch this series either. Props to the old man.

I'm actually upset he is having a good U18's. I'm praying he falls to the Islanders.

I am actually for drafting the best player available, because if you do that, and those players work out you have assets to move for positions of need. That doesn't always work out when you draft a guy just because he shoots left handed or right handed, etc.

Last year, I wanted Sean Day when he began to slide, because I think he's good big time ability for a third round pick. In this draft, if there is a big disparity on the Rangers board between the best right handed defensemen left, and someone else, I have no problem with them picking the player they like better.

But, I obviously agree with Tom that there is a need on the right side organizationally. Just saying you can't force it if its not there.

Unlike most men, size isn't something I take into account.

Seriously though. Guy like Ryan Ellis, Karlsson, Krug and Ghostisbehere have erased that stereotype.

I was much better when I went to OHL games all the time, because I saw the guys personally. Now with the Plymouth Whalers moving to Flint (further away from me), and my daughters playing 600 soccer games a year, not much free time to catch the O anymore.

Yeah I'm a firm believer in taking the BPA. Drafting for organizational need is almost totally pointless, unless maybe you have the first or second overall pick. Otherwise, your pick is at least a year or two away and who knows what your roster will look like by then.

There's a really good chance the Rangers end up signing Shattenkirk and then all the sudden the need for a RH defenseman gets lessened a little bit, for better or worse.

I'm also a big fan of taking the guys that slide once there starts to be value there. Ho Sang proved to be a great move and, while it turned out to be for naught, the Kabanov pick in the 3rd round was a good one too.

A Nashville cop on the difference between last night's Neil Diamond concert and tonight's hockey game: "crowd assistance vs crowd control."

Maybe cause Neil Diamond's target audience is a year older than ancient.

Yeah, although he was taken 17th overall. Was he expected to go that much higher?

if the Rangers stick at #20 or wherever they end up in the 1st round and choose another left handed defenseman, I will join Tom in losing my poop

I mean what hell kinda of comment is that? Fans of hockey get a little rowdy. Don't go full Canucks and you're fine.
