even if he didnt, you and i have both pointed out that its a pretty sweet set up for him there. I dont know that hed want to give that up. - Sabresfan-365
exactly, the way the NCAA Hockey has grown over the past decade, it has a lot of momentum and he really is the equivalent of Saban when it comes to recruiting. That school does all the work for them and the best want to play there.
Hes a good coach, its a good city and program, plus the rest of BU athletics stink so hockey players run that campus. If you are a big recruit, its almost a No Brainer to go there to win national championships and run a whole school

The BU coach isn't coming here. The C will be given to Jack, but this isn't kindergarten. Gionta's contract is expired, new GM, new coach... jack will be handed his team just like McDavid was handed his. He will need to step up and be a leader from here on out.
I'm usually a terrible judge in character but I knew I was right about him....

The stupid (frank) has been fired twice and they keep bringing him back. I listen to WGR in the morning because of him. Although Jeremy White is right up there when it comes to douches. I enjoy listening to Howard Simon.

I remember when Jeremy White was ranting and raving about Yakapov and Gregorenko, and talking down to every caller who didn't agree with him that they were franchise players. At the time, to be fair, I guess you could say nobody could possibly know how these players would turn out, but he refused to accept any other points of view. He was right about these guys, period, and all callers were wrong. I was done at that point with this jack ass and his arrogance.

Yup 100% agreed. He is the true definition or arrogance.

If I were in Tim Murray's position, I'd rather have been extended and fired instead of simply not renewed. It means I get a bigger severance package. - buffalofan19
It's also hilarious that the quote is *random anonymous NHL exec* AKA someone Tim Murray is friends with or related to.
We were bottom 5. That's all the justification that was needed

I would just go on the shelf, honor the non-compete, and keep collecting a paycheck.

agreed, just posted because a while ago i brought up the implication of his extension. Like if there was some sort of opt out available to the sabres based on this years performance.
