Kevin Sylvester, who used to host hockey hotline, suggests Adams is the likely hire.

Then it was 2 people. JVince was definitely one of them and the one I was thinking of. You could've been the other.

Yep. He's mentioned him as well as Sir Paul Hamilton. Not saying he will be the hire but the evidence is mounting. I wouldn't think he'd be the GM but VP of hockey operations sounds likely IMO

there's absolutely no reason to put adams in a position like that...what has he done?...kevin devine has front office experience...would be a better pick, imo, although not the best pick the sabres could make

Unless you are hiring a big name like Messier or a proven winner like Lombardi, I don't see why you need to rush a Kevyn Adams hire. This is too important a decision to make just because Pegula wants to avoid being the center of attention tmo.

I'm just the messenger. I don't like it but at the same time it makes sense from Pegula's perspective. How much experience did Yzerman have? Honest question as I have no idea.

Yzerman, Shanahan, Neely, Kevyn Adams.

If you are going to hire a former player with little to no experience running a pro hockey team, go hire a hall of famer who at least will command respect. Don't hire a former checking line center who none of the current players have heard of.

Different players doesn't matter. Terrible players are good coaches/Gms all the time.

Exactly. He's in the old boys club. I'm starting to hate that club.

It really shouldn't matter how good of a player they were, but it does somehow. Plus he's got weird parents. Spelling his name with a (frank)ing "Y". I went to high school with his cousin. He was a weird kid.

You have to rush, because you can't be without a front office now. Or ever really, but especially now.

To play devils advocate here Hasek doesn't strike me as a GM or coach he's a hall of famer. I bet there are former players that are not good who are great coaches/good Gms

I'm sure many will groan at this but Matt Ellis will make a very good coach some day once he works his way up the ranks of the NHL
