Pegula is a very good business man that is well known however, he is not a very good owner and Jerry Jones he is not. He needs a hockey guy to work with him on the day to day running of the team.

It took Jerry Jones a very long time to realize how to effectively run a team and he still makes crazy moves. As good as Elliot is it was crazy to take a guy that had those questions that high.

Pegula's only been an owner for 5 full seasons. That's not really a long time, you older guys, when you were 5 years into your careers compared to today which guy would you want making decisions?

I agree caps and pitts,but Pittsburgh is way better than the leafs and they'll be watching how the Caps got exposed in the series! But the Caps do have a great defense and better goaltender imho

Sam supposedly has "hockey smarts."
I have very limited knowledge of Drisatl, but watching this series, he works his ass off.
So, either Sam needs linemates who work their asses off, and his hockey smarts will get them the puck or we have the wrong guy.

I think we all forget that he was a first time GM. I know we all make jokes, but he got almost zero support. He was the one flying blind and it showed at times. I think it was a mistake to fire Murray. I thought the whole point of giving him a shot was to, you know, give him a shot. I know, I know this was his 4th year, but it's only his second year of trying to win. His drafts have gotten better the past 2 years, he hasn't made any impetuous moves. There's plenty of ammo for him contrary to what people may say. Overall I'd say he was learning. Now he'll take all that experience on to another team and they'll be the one to reap the benefits. There's a reason the military wants you to serve at least 3 years of active duty to get the full GI bill. They don't want to waste all those resources training you for a job for you to bail as soon as you get your feet underneath you.

GMTM had Rochester sucking, us taking a step back, & all the behind the scenes BS was probably the clincher

I agree I thought caps in 4 or 5,just wanted to compete ,what's your thoughts on the g.m. and coaching positions to be filled with the Sabres
