I get why radio guys would like Murray, he *was* (feels good to say was) entertaining.
But Simon did a good job of breaking down his moves today and basically said, why wouldn't he have been fired
Moulson deal
Ennis deal
acquiring Bogo
Fasching deal
2014 draft
Kulikov
Not doing a single thing all year
It would be reasonable to be given another year, but the firing is totally defensible - sbroads24
bogo wasn't the key piece of that deal and mcnabb is not that good...as for the rest, points well made |

Bogo was absolutely a kep piece in that deal.
HE though Bogosian was a top 3 d-man. He wasnt just a get rid if me cap dump. If he was, that is even worse for Murray giving up that much for a long term expensive cap dump. |

I agree with McNabb not being very good, but leaving him out of it, the trade is still 2 2nds for Fasching and D-Lo. |

kane was the key piece, and that includes him being on ir for the rest of the season...sure, he liked bogo, but do you think he would have traded for him without kane? |

Impossible to answer, but Yes I do.
Murray on Bogosian:
“He’s a big, strong, athletic kid who works hard, has a ton of character in my estimation, has leadership qualities,” Murray said. “I’ve liked him since probably the first game I saw him as an amateur. …
“The one dimension they both bring is they’re hard to play against. They make us as a team harder to play against. |

we won't know how those two second pan out for a while, but odds are against second-rounders making an impact at the nhl-level, and even making it full time to nhl |

He traded 2 2nds and McNabb, for Fasching and Deslauriers (was there another pick in there as well?). No matter how you slice it, that trade did not make the team better in any way. |

You still can't justify 2 2nd round picks for a guy with 1 NHL goal, and a very underwhelming year in the AHL, 3 years after the fact |

why is this still a debate? the guy sucked at his job (both of them did) and his arrogance didnt match his results. We're in a better position today than we were two days ago. |

Alex Lintuniemi and Erik Černák
we'll see how those pan out...and I wouldn't give up on Fasching just yet...he was dealing with a groin tear all season

Hes mentioned he traded Bogo for Myers straight up in that deal is how he viewed it. The rest of the pieces were for Kane |

I don't think anyone has given up on Fasching.
Point is the value was way, far off a cliff off.
For 2 2nds and a bottom pairing D man you should get a pretty nice NHL regular back. Not a former 4th rounder from the year before |
