How happy is Pedan that Tree left? - A_SteamingLombardi
After the Benning interview it would be hilarious if Pedan signed somewhere else |

we'll agree to disagree hutton/stech should be in utica ... but i am the minority - the end
Stecher played well enough to be in the lineup, Hutton is an AHL player I agree wholeheartdly. In fact, I might be the only poster on here that does. |

With Tree being chopped, i think we can park any trade plans for our D.
I think we need to hold onto everyone and look to add if anything.
Looking forward to Neil, OJ and Subban this year! - dbot
Let Tanev's NTC kick in so we can't move him and his 3 goals or keep StayPuff Edler and let him ruin the team for two more years. |

It doesn't matter both Tanev and Edler wont be around when this team becomes relevant again. 5-6 years from now we will have a completely different defense. Let Tanev and Edler stay and get Benning, Linden and who ever they hire to coach fired. |

You are right about this team is 5-6 years away. It will not matter who is back there . Both Edler and Tanev were in the lineup down the stretch when we were getting 45 shots against. The goalies kept the game close.
Tanevs NTC kicks in this year and no NTC has ever been a good thing for Canucks. There are plenty of UFA Dmen this year that can be signed for two years at 2 mil that can bring close to what he brings. Why not add another piece to the puzzle and toughen the D up a bit or add scoring. |

Great, and bring all his pals from the AHL. Poor bastard is already set up to be micromanaged by JB's b*tch Jarvis. |

This team isn't changing until we have a Wirtz like changing of the guard. |

Tanev has an 8 team ntc, still 22 teams he can be traded to after July 1st.
Watching Montreal series, 1st time in my life I have cheered for Habs. They are a pretty physical team. |

In your opinion, who are his contract comps? I have a feeling there will be a little more distance between what the franchise projects him as (when this team's built) vs what Bo & his agent think he's worth based on his role & production on an anemic bottom-feeding roster during these talks... If he wants to be paid for being our leading scorer, it could cause an ugly negotiation, because he won't be filling that role when we become competitive. - DrChristianTroy
These are the guys I would compare Bo too, IMO
Gabriel Landeskog 5.7mil
Nick Foligno 5.5 mil
Vincent Trocheck 4.7 mil
Mike Hoffman 5.2 mil
Bryan Little 4.7mil ( although I think Bo is better, but they have similar #)
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins 6 mil
Victor Rask 4 mil
You can see there is a bit of a separation in salary but their points are similar. I think Bo could command 5-5.5 mil a yr for min 6 yrs

Bo should not get more than 5 mil . He may be our best but that doesn't qualify him as leagues best |

If it's a longer term contract he will command a min of 5 mil you would think. Bridge deal for a cpl yrs at 3.5 mil is what I'm thinking.

C'mon we all like Bo but his best year is 20 goals 52 pts. His D needs work .
Let's not get into ridiculous cap trouble when we are rebuilding . If he doesn't want 6 yrs x 5 then give him a bridge deal. He may get more later on but there is a chance he gets less also |

Let's look at some comparables.
Elias Lindholm got 2.7 x2 slightly lower numbers. Bridge
Tomas Hertl 3 x2 Bridge
Nick Bjustad 4.1 x6 also lower numbers.
Trocheck 4.75 x6
Victor Rask 4 x6. Close but hasn't hit 50 points.
Rickell 3.8 x6
Huberdeau 5.9 x6 hit 50 plus twice.
Kadri 4.5 x6 |

Chicago has scored in only one period out of 11 |

Half the forwards were out. The system was weak. Both play a big part. Stecher won't be playing top 4 minutes next season. |

You have to admit he has gotten better every yr, and he will continue to get better. If he signs a longer term deal it won't be about next yr as much as a cpl yrs down the road. I don't think Bo is a top line center and a 80+ point producer but he is in the mix with guys making 5.5mil a yr over 6yrs.

the only actual comparables there are Kadri, Hubey, rask and trochek (even this last one is nowhere nearly good d-stats and faceoff wise). He'll get 4.5-6x6 I predict. Kadri is a steal of a deal, I think the market has gone up my guess: 6x5mil at least
