His young wife whining and complaining about being away from home wasn't enough of a distraction?

I cannot remember a single instance that highlighted Larsen all year.

Or maybe read between the lines and come up with a different wildly speculative option and push that instead...let's see...oh it's because Goldy hit on his wife and Tryamkin needed to get out of town before she left completely...it's all there in the media report if you read between the lines and make up what you want.
Only a one year deal... well that shatters the stupid assumption he left because he was only offered a 2 year deal. - Makita

I'm just really pleased that Liljegren has finally been exposed. I was worried Gradin would pressure Benning into selecting him |

More Virtanens?
I say no more Russians. They are lazy hockey players. There have only been a handful that actually cared about winning a cup. The rest just want money and don't care about winning. |

when i said no one i meant none of the posters and Carol did touch on this as well
"Tryamkin's move could also be part of a larger trend. As soon as Gary Bettman closed the door on NHL players participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics, we started to hear rumblings that the Russians would try to get as many players as possible back to the KHL, which would allow them to participate.International hockey is very important in Russia. My impression is that if the homeland calls, one cannot say no."
so its not super outlandish to think that the Olympics was also a factor in his decision |

I don't care about the reason(s) he left... Bottom line - he left. If things were handled properly from management down to leadership/brotherhood in the dressing room, I don't think we would've been blindsided by a departure like this. It's a big, BIG blow to the rebuild IMO... - DrChristianTroy

especially given that the NHL wont be sending its players, Russia might actually have a chance to win Olympic gold.... |

Sure its a blow, but lets not oversell it please.....if Gudbranson is in the lineup, tryamkin doesnt play....on the leagues 2nd WORST team and bottom 5 defense...
He's a guy I'd hate to see go as he has an apparent plethora of potential but c'mon, this team was just bad and he didnt make a lick of difference.... |

Sorry man, I actually think you have a valid opinion, I was being facetious with my post on another point.
I was wondering how many Russian players would leave for the KHL because of the NHL decision. |

There's potentially a ton of value to be found in Russian prospects if a franchise thinks outside the GD box for once & establishes an infrastructure for their NHL success... Start by hiring a Russian Canucks alum (Larionov? What's he doing these days outside representing a few Russian players...) to live here, be their advocate, make them feel at home, be present in team situations to translate etc... Any franchise that does something like that could become the go-to NHL destination for top Russian talent... |
