So Kane is still pretty ass hurt over losing. He is saying that the Preds are not fun to watch, and they the preds should have played the way they did....
The Chicago Blackhawks' season is over, but Patrick Kane is still talking.
The star forward took a shot at the Nashville Predators' style of play at Chicago's postmortem session Saturday.
"A team like that, you kind of hope they don't win," Kane told reporters, according to Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times. "I don't know if that's necessarily the best way to watch hockey games."
Kane said Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville was calling the Predators' trapping system "Red Rover."
Nashville shut out Chicago in both of the first two games in what was a four-game sweep by the Predators, limiting the Blackhawks to only three goals in the series.
Kane scored one of those, in Game 3, and chipped in with an assist in Game 4, but both he and Jonathan Toews were essentially held in check by goaltender Pekka Rinne and the Nashville defense.
The Predators weren't a particularly dominant defensive team in the regular season, ranking 15th with 2.68 goals allowed per game. The Blackhawks came into the playoffs on a four-game losing streak and thus finished on an eight-game skid, with their last win coming March 31. |

Wondering who everyone else is "rooting" for to win the Cup now.
If the Pens win it will be 3 in 9 years compared to the Hawks 3 in 6 years but will have back-to-backs.
So then the 2nd question is, if the Pens do win it again, are they "1st Dynasty" of the salary cap era....or are the Hawks or perhaps neither.
Just food for thought as I watch the Cubs club the Reds. - ILGolfer
I think the Pens come out of the east..
The west is wide open since you guys are out.. |

It will be Pens/Caps vs Ducks/Blues final. Can't see the Preds making it past the Blues. |

Well being a hawks fan, I can see where he is coming from, I was not entertained by any of those games, although I bet Preds fans found them very entertaining. Stupid thing for Kane to say, meanwhile wild has caught blues at 3 in the third and game is entertaining. |

I have absolutely no quarrel with what Kane said here. NOBODY should be pointing fingers at his play in the series or his opinion of how the games played out. He left it all out there and played clean the entire series.
Predators and their fans do not need to worry one little bit until at least October about the Blackhawks. See you then. |

Well for a fan to say that seems fine, but for a player to say that in public doesn't seem fine. He was held in check fairly well along with the rest of he hawks this series, he is paid to win, he lost. He should expect more of that type of hockey in future years against the hawks, as it seems to work against them. It isn't going away. He and the hawks need to focus on how to play better against tight checking teams, not assess the entertainment value of games they just lost. His comments seem too much like a distraction from focusing on hawks poor play and inability to play through close checking. |

First off Mr. Golfer....CUBS WIN.
Second: I am going with NYR, TOR, MIN as who'd I would like to see win now.
Getting out there tomorrow or Mon? 70 predicted each day. - blackhawk24
BH24, gonna play tomorrow but recovering from kidneys stone.....ouch. As for my picks, either Blues or Wild and over in the east....Tor or Wash. And the Cubs can score, unlike the Hawks. |

I have every confidence Patrick Kane will spend the entire off season working on just that; finding ways to beat the traps.....dude's a consummate rink rat. |

It's hard to say, I watched the blues/wild series and I was not to impressed by the blues. Not to say the Preds won't win or can't win, but I think it goes to six games. |

I like the oilers chances and I hate the caps. So pens win the east. West is wide open if the preds play with the grit they had against Chicago I'm praying they can take out the blues in six |

I suspect the Chicago series will have been the Preds easiest by a country mile when it's all over |
