Maybe I take it personal becuase of posts like this . - VANTEL
What's wrong with that? It's true and related to the the topic at hand.
I'm fine with eating crow on Shinkaruk-Granlund and if people want to disregard my opinion on future prospect for prospect trades that are similar to that one because I was wrong, I'd say that's completely fair.
It's just funny to see posters who are so inconsistent with what they want...one day they want to move an overpaid player for cap space and the next week they'll defend another overpaid player. Makes no sense. |

Love how you always say poop like this when someone backs you into a corner lol
Thank you.
I take that as a compliment.
It brings a smile to my face to see the same guys I argued against now finally turning on this management team.
Not sure how me wanting a proper rebuild 3-4 years ago means that I can't handle one The only thing I and many others can't handle is one that's starting years too late. - Nucker101
I don't see many here turning on the management, although more are starting to. I guess I can only speak for myself but: I've liked a lot of JB's moves. From trades to draft picks. Do I think he could have shipped out a few more old pieces? Absolutely. To his absolute credit: he got great value on both Hansen and Burrows.
Hopefully those moves are a sign of things to come. |

You also said Sbisa was horrible and most fans here would take him over Edler.
Serious question . If Sedins score 80 points each next year next year does that help or hinder the Canucks ?
If Tanev and Edler play lights out this year does that Help the Canucks?
This team has no speed , no toughness , and very little skill. Should they not dismantle and rebuild?
Stan Bowman is a very smart man and he has no problem in moving Seabrook even though they have won three cups and still had a very good season. Why are Canucks not doing this? Linden is too damn close to the players he played with.
Tough decisions are needed and we don't have the management to make those tough choices. |

Comments about offer sheeting RFA' - Its pretty hard to offer sheet an RFA now a days...most teams sign their important RFA's a yr in advance of them becoming one and also have the 8 yr extension option which a new team wouldn't.
As for Edler, being left unprotected during the expansion draft is silly. I do understand that it clears cap space and take the NTC out of the equation but he has value, remember asset management? Yeah, the Oilers and Leafs got rid of their dead weight but it wasn't for nothing, they got assets in return.
There's my 2cents, for what it's worth! |

The cap space and Edler was meant as a joke. Moving him for noting if there was no other choice was serious

You don't wake up from your nightmares at 3 am screaming cap space?? - CanuckDon
In all honesty, sometimes I envy those people that are truly passionate about them. I just can't bring myself to care all that greatly. I obviously have opinions on things, but the decisions are out of my control so I just follow along and enjoy the sport. My interest levels will sway a bit in the amount of games I attend each year, but can't see myself ever not watching the games/highlights because they cut the Sedin's, traded Horvat for Kadri or signed Sbisa to a 5 year/$25m extension |

It's a shame it took 2.75 years into his employment to start doing the job the way it should have been done from day 1. I hate this management group because they we're yes men to FA, once it truly fell apart FA finally realized he needed to re-build, if we have a management group that reacts 2 years to late to everything we're (frank)ed. |

I agree we need to get rid of Edler for something, hopefully a younger D prospect. If we do trade Tanev and Edler, what concerns me is Van being a complete embarrassment.....like what the Avs were this yr. I'm good with losing and drafting high in the 1st round but I don't want it to be too much where I can't even watch it PVR'd and on fast forward.

The offer sheeting question was asked at a good time as the comments section was going downhill hard. I will throw out a statement or ask a question to change the direction of conversation when I see it shifting to poop.

In 2.75 yrs JB got rid of Kesler, Beiska, Garrison, Burrows, Hansen, Raymond and I know I'm missing some and he added JV, Demko, Tree, Boeser, Goldobin, Darlene, Stetcher, Baer, Granlund, and Gudbranson. That is a lot of turn over in 2.75 yrs.
