I look forward to them rushing into the line up.
Love that they are adding 'you don't have to play in Utica' clauses. - Marwood
I'm not sure they've done that with Dahlen have they? My understanding is that they have to option to assign him wherever. I truly hope they put him in the AHL. |

well....in their defense, Tryamkin would have become a UFA if they didn't sign him so they were in no position to not offer that clause. They just needed to lock up their pick. In regards to Dahlen, perhaps he said he will sign this year if they put in the clause and if not, wait a year before signing. So if he doesn't make the Canucks he can excersize his option to play in the SEL which is totally fine. At least he can get some training done in Van and we will all get to see him in the preaseason |

I just saw this.
#1) I changed that language before I saw your post. My take is more clear on family playing a role. Which I have always stated.
#2) Subtantial is a spin word. On two years both Manvanfan and I broke that down yesterday what comps were. You think they offered him a core value contract? TL claim he was core. As for Russian deal we don't have clarification of one or the other here. Speculation is that either money was close or more. If it was close then all the other factors like family, role etc didn't tip the scales for Nucks. Thus back to deduction that more significant money and term here could have.
#3) I don't know who it was and what was stated. Maybe you can enlighten us. Though my point was if true then it's on leadership and vets for atmosphere. That's their job. Right? Not that they created it. But if that is true allowing for it is: a)not a good sign of inclusion or b) not good leadership or control of the lockeroom. - Nuck4U
I doubt the money was much more than 1.8 at the most and would be surprised if it approached 2.5. Once you factor in taxes in BC he's taking home like 12 bucks of that.
Back home KHL players don't get charged tax on their salaries, or maybe its their signing bonuses, and I think if he got any number that beats his post-tax earnings here, or ever close enough that less isn't a big deal, he probably took it gladly once mixing in family and the Olympics. |

Are they going to play him on an injured knee in back to back games so they "can test it out" instead of letting the guy rest and rehab at a reasonable pace? |

Ok fair enough, didn't see the about face on the family reason.
Again I'm going to believe in Carols assessment, and what we know from credible reports that the KHL pays much less than the NHL, and if the figures that JB offered 1.9 a season are anywhere close, well to me that is substantial for what he brought to the team. A core piece doesn't mean that he deserved a 5 year contract, whatever happened to earning your due?
Again how you come up with these speculations is quite strange. The leaders in the room could have been intervening...again because someone is disliked by god knows who, it's the leaders job to make sure everyone stows that poop away, for the team sake, the leaders can not make people like an entitled prima donna. But they should make sure the players play for the crest on the front of the jersey and themselves. Doesn't mean they have to be best buddies and go for beers afterwards.

Or dress him to play when he's "healthy" but take no shifts because the coach doesn't trust him more than Megna, Chaput or Dorsett?
I'm honestly a little surprised there hasn't been any chatter about a grievance from the PA. |

I have a buddy who used to always take leafs in hockey pools in the later rounds and everyone laughed at him ...he would say I know they are awful but someone has to score for them ... - Redmile247
Hows the sweep feel time for a rebuild. |

I'm just doing the math here:
1) Tryamkin contracts mumps Feb 24
2) Canucks acquire Goldobin Feb 28
3) Goldobin spends time with Russians to get acquainted with Vancouver
4) Goldobin misses game March 9 with "illness" (mumps is an illness)
I am betting somewhere between steps 3 and 4 there was a night alone with Mrs Tryamkin... - WhiteLie

The Tyamkin one I understand. I'm not too impressed that they are handing another one out so soon. What's the rush? Would a season or 2 in the Swedish Elite League hinder his development?
I think it's PR deflection. |

Converted thats like 107m rubles per year, which also would put him very high on the salary list according to an article on Sportsnet they published at the beginning of this past season:

Like someone else said, most likely tax-free and probably some additional bonuses and endorsements that are not tracked as salary. Tryamkin's team doesnt seem to be a big name one, so I cannot see them ponying up a whole lot like SKA does |

IMO, yes it would... Next step for Dahlen is transitioning his skillset to NA ice. His hockey IQ/vision/skating/shooting/passing don't require further development on euro ice based on what I've seen. |
