What if your company regressed and then you asked him why and how to fix the regression and he had very little answers.

What if also he rubbed some of your customers the wrong way that they didnt really want to deal with your company anymore, much like the Rumors with Murray were.

well i mean if they replace him with pierre mcquire or something...

It could be anyone. If the team isn't contending for a spot in the dance next year it's the same poop. Who knows what murrays plan was this offseason and if he really didn't have any answers then ya fire his ass. Just find it hard to believe.

Whatever ............ NHL prospects and draft picks are murrency in this league and many of them NEVER pan out at all.

The other point you and others miss entirely is what sort of pressure was Pegula putting on TM to get this ship turned around ASAP ? How do you or anyone else know that Murray's approach wasn't being directed by an owner who had lost his patience ?

1. Ask 89, but he set lofty expectations when he came here.

2. I didn't say he was lying, just that it was a dumb thing to say

3. If it wasnt some cornerstone why did they think the guy could come in play 25 mins a night and get this team to the playoffs?

4. Not as it stands today, going into this season.

And bolded, thats on you. The guy expected a team that finished bottom 10 to suddenly make the playoffs based on the premise that they were 1 win a month away and the difference was dimitry freaking kulikov. Never mind the fact all the dead weight accumulated on the blueline.

He had a plan .......... that BS about not having answers was just Bucky spewing off.

The next thing you'll be hearing is he showed up to that meeting drunk.

I'm sure he had a plan. Maybe it wasn't good enough to pegulas ear. Now the pressure is on pegula and whoever he hires moving forward. In my mind it's not a good bet for pegula and not a great situation for the new guy.

With that said I still think this offseason handled correctly by anyone will be what really gets this team moving forward. Lots of opportunity.

Maybe his plan sucked so Pegula fired him.

In all honesty, what was the reason he was fired? Most fans still liked him, so it wasn't out of public pressure.

The Sabres and Amerks are a mess. He was fired because he wasn't doing well at his job.

And for the record, I was no Murray fan, but I thought he'd be given another year, but he obviously wasn't liked well enough by TP

I was hoping SJ would beat Edmonton too. I wouldn't mind seeing a Pittsburgh-Anaheim final I guess. The teams left really don't do anything for me.

(frank) Ottawa and Washington.

1. OK . so the next GM that comes in should come in with NO expectations .... or at the very least minimal?

2. He was making the point that the team was not far away .......... and he wasn't wrong when he said it. You act like every loss is a deserved loss and in the NHL puck luck has as much to do with that as anything. A couple of lucky bounces here and there and you'll get 6 more wins over the course of the year.

3. Your expectations .... not his. He never said this was the final piece to the puzzle .... but apparently you thought so.

Or Murray didn't deliver on what he set out to do from Day one.

Plus Pegula wasn't involved (to whatever level you want to believe) in the hiring of TM. It doesn't take an executive long to move away from people that they aren't directly involved in hiring if they don't perform.

But he was liked enough last fall to give him an extension? Again .. I think Pegula panicked for some reason.

God i hope he does. Just make this team exciting to watch. its got the players for that, find a coach that can put a system for that too and watch player growth skyrocket.

2. They were close to last 5v5. if an analytics guy like TM thinks they were not far away then thats the reddest of flags

3. again, they werent my expectations. I was the guy getting laughed at for thinking theyd be bad and being too hard on bogosian. And being obsessed with lindholm (irrelevant to this i know but ill own it lol)

Yes, he was wrong. And most metrics showed we were one of the worst teams in hockey

I recall one of them mentioning that they believed it would take 95 points to get in.

Is where many will probably agree to disagree. He traded a bunch of prospects he didnt draft that haven't really amounted to poop for players that have an impact on our roster. Didn't have enough time to restock Rochester with his picks. The sabres underachieved IMO mostly due to coaching and injury, lack of depth showing because of it.

Entirely possible Terry didn't like his plan and canned him for it. Better get it right this time though or we will become edmonton east. Do not want a revolving door of failure every 2 years.

I think their best shot was last year. Who knows if Marleau and Jumbo Joe come back. I think they will but who knows. Those guys into their upper 30's now.
