The Kim Pegula is starting to concern me. Her name is mentioned in virtually everything that occurs with the Bills and the Sabre's but yet no one knows exactly what she does and how she does it. If this whole Bills and Sabre's reorg don't go as planned as they haven't before will anyone want to approach the topic, or do you think she will be spared. There are recent articles in local papers and even on NFL.com touting her as a symbol of achievement but is it politically incorrect to ask what exactly she has achieved. I mean facts are facts she met Terry in a restaurant where she was a waitress. He is 20 years her elder. So with all that said, does at some point if this doesn't turn around will anyone be willing to ask. What exactly does she do as it pertains to the Bills and the Sabre's? I just hope both teams turn it around because if the Carolina Hurricanes make the playoffs and neither Buffalo teams do, Buffalo will have the longest steaks in both leagues for not making the playoffs and that kind of failure is almost legendary. - richc111
She technically owns the Bills. The NFL doesn't like you to own 2 sports teams in NA. So Terry had Kim put her name at the top. Or they'll say the 'Pegula family".
I'm also almost positive he wasn't rich when they met.
The Bills streak started 14 years before they bought the team. I'm not putting that on them at this point. And he saw the writing on the wall with the Sabres and saw great talent coming up and decided to tear it down. It's a little early to call them failures. |

There are 2 ways that can go. No rush as in don't make the trades, or no rush as in don't fire a guy after only 4 years on a job that takes a very long time to master. And say what you will, but he was getting better, everyone has praised his last 2 drafts. |

that got him fired. you take any job and make big timeline promises to your boss and dont deliver your fired. The fact that they managed to get worse and other rebuilding teams passed them? he had no shot.
If he hadnt set ridiculous expectations and didnt gut the organization to get his guys there's a decent chance he still has a job today. |

biggest problem was injuries...didn't have the depth to cover them...and that goes all the way to Rochester...
my biggest question is, why did they roll with less than 45 professional contracts this season?
wonder who's decision that was and how they came to the conclusion that it was good for the organzation |

Thats a part of it, and moving out boatloads of picks and prospects doesnt help that. But i think the answer to both your questions is TM probably thought the guys he brought in were that good, enough to take that step forward so that the surplus in contract space could be used at the deadline to buy and then in april to add college FA's like Smith, Bayreuther etc.
Edit: they day 1 lineup wasnt good either, Fedun and Guhle wound up being relatively big upgrades when they were here. |

i dont mind a GM making that bet, but he made them on guys that were so obviously wrong for this team that it just didnt make sense. |

If DD hadn't lost the room ,and coached the team from January onward like a team on a mission, then we'd be watching the Sabres right now. Not to say that we have a contending NHL roster, but I do not think that we are very far away. Weren't we the second-youngest team last year? |

i think losing the room turned them into a bottom 5 team, but they were on the outside looking in no matter what cause of that blueline.
Not sure the age argument helps though, all about youth in the nhl these days. |

I thought of that from time to time as well. TM trying to not burn players' ELC time? |

the big bet he made last summer was on kulikov...I still can't get over how people think pysyk was such a loss...
to reiterate: kuli played in the wcoh and missed most of training camp then was injured in his first preseason game...it was an injury that affected him nearly the entire season...
in the very least he's comparable to pysyk...when healthy |

I'm just wondering what Kaiser thinks of Pysyk. |
