Pach, your piece made me think of a couple things. Let me preface by saying I really liked GMTM.
1. Disco was probably gone regardless, but wonder if Pegula wanted to institute a president and Murray didn't want another cook in the kitchen.
2. I wonder how much Murray not trading Kane had to do with his fate? Maybe Murray was petitioning to keep him til his value increased? Now another manager can come in, do the deed, get a decent return and look like a hero. |

I'm surprised they'd let this come out being that they're still in it |

Sabres get the Calder trophy winner. Sense get the perennial Norris trophy winner. Wonder how much different things would be if they took Karlsson instead? |

I know I've brought it up before...but Rivet said that Lindy never bothered to coach Myers... |

I don't get the point of defending it. Kulikov was terrible, stupid trade, end of story.
Murray loved D men who can't move the puck with any intelligence. Glad he's gone - sbroads24
Kulikov was bad this year likely because of his injury. It was not a bad trade. You can look at it anyway you want, but most will say it was a good trade with an unfortunate ending. |

He's never been really good. Which is what they thought they were getting.
Even when healthy he made head scratching decisions.
This GM acquired dumb players and hired a head coach who needed smart ones. |

It was a bad trade. Yes, nobody could have foreseen Kulikov's injury, but the trade was still bad. Pysyk we put 5 years into his development, and although not flash, he is a solid, stable defenseman. We gave him up on an RFA contact with a great cap hit for Kuli who only head 1 year until UFA status. We also gave up a 3rd rounder and pick #38, who (forget name) was one of the OHL's leading scores this year. Asplund is a nice piece, but the trade as a whole was a flop. |
