Why did you say Ted Black wasn't a puppet Gerbe? To me he came off like the ultimate yes man. - bluengold12
He's actually a really good guy and cares a lot about the fans
Did you know he responded to mostly every single email that was sent to him by fans about complaints and he tried fixing those things the best he could
I would say his downfall was rooting for the tank too much with the fanbase he also would give information to the fans at his meet the president "meetings"
( the Dominic ceremony I think was the nail in the coffin)
Russ Brandon definitely agreed |

I have a friend that works in the Sabres office that said things ran much smoother (administratively) once Brandon took over. Obviously, the product on the ice still leaves a ton to be desired.

He cared a lot about the fanbase I know that he would go to to Sabres message boards and get interviewed and get insight from the fans ( not here of course )
But you're probably right they probably got aggravated that he was way too open with things like Murray
But they have to fix that horrendous atmosphere at the Arena it's not very exciting |

Not one game 7, that was a fast round 1 |

I think there was 14 overtime games ( could be wrong lol)
It was still very exciting but I did not like the format |

I can't wait until we are good so I don't hear about Russ Brandon and Kim Pegula. Because I'm certain they won't get credit the same way they weirdly get blamed |

I'd be curious to know what arena's like Nashville (Said to be one of the best fan atmospheres in the NHL) and other powerhouses like Pittsburgh and Montreal do.
Part of me suspects it simply comes down to the on ice product. I had seasons from 05-08 and the crowds and the atmosphere was always electric. Granted they had some cool things back then that they got rid of. Like movie clips to get fans pumped up, kiss cam for opposing players (Not PC anymore), coffee cup drop, sound meter (that people actually tried to break), and most of all no crappy euro dance techno music!!! But I wonder if those other cities I mentioned are doing the same stuff in their arena's they just happen to have exciting teams that win. |

I'm surprised they'd let this come out being that they're still in it - chilliard77
It is, but it's not like the Rangers can key in on his heel. |

I went to a Dallas game and it was really incredibly fun that has to be one of the top fan atmospheres they had like crazy chants ..
But yeah I believe you that the games we're very entertaining I used to hear all the fans on the TV ( loud as poop we want 1...2..3..4..) now I hear nothing
They got to do something I just don't know what

I mean if they had trouble against the Toronto Maple Leafs ( not saying you're a bad team)
basically just destroyed Columbus (in my opinion if they faced Toronto or Washington they would have made easy work of them ) |

Dallas really? That's kind of shocking. Feel like a lot of them aren't very hockey passionate. What did they do that made it so electric? |

Dancing around the other Kim talk on here it annoys me that she didn't like Tim. Unless of course Tim did something inappropriate which would be another story. But if she didn't like his personality so what? I loved his personality it was a breath of fresh air and I really wanted him to work out here. He obviously didn't but it's neither here nor there.
Also I hate the idea of getting a boring "character" guy who doesn't take risks. We'll sign Gionta and Gorges to 5 year 25 million dollar extensions if that's the case...
It better not be pushed on new GM to trade Kane at all costs because of what hey did. That would not be smart management. Nor do I want the new GM to be the Pegula's puppet like Russ and Ted Black are and were. - bluengold12
I heard gmtm got drunk and called Kim the C word and had to beg to keep his job short into his tenure. I'm not saying that's what really happened, but I think it's pretty clear he was fired because he's a little too free wheeling for the pegula's taste, and also might be too much of a riverboat gambler for them asset wise. I had faith he was going to straighten it out, but also things considered, especially with the people that own the team, I could see patience being thin and not wanting to leave to chance. |
