MTL fans are brutal. I heard the morning after they were eliminated, TSN radio MTL opened up their phone calls and EVERY caller was calling for management to trade Carey Price. Meanwhile, where was Paccioretty or Galchenyuk all series. Radulov and Gallagher and Byron and Lehkonen were the only ones who did anything offensively.

I really dont think its outlandish to think they should trade Price, Montreal is not very good and they have wasted an opportunity where he is the best goalie in the world and not being paid like it.

It is no question he will be the highest paid goalie in the league after next season, and given Lundqvist is an $8.5 hit, I can see him getting $10/year. They were never deep enough and will have a harder time filling their needs with Weber/Price eating 20% of the cap for the next 5+ seasons

I think it's not outlandish for them to trade Price and Weber. I don't see that core ever having a deep playoff run.

They lack scoring in terms of a #1 C a #2 C and a couple of top 6 wingers... Kreider did nothing, Stepan was quiet, Miller, Hayes only had 1 point each, all that yet the Rangers outscored the Habs. Pretty embarassing for MTL if you ask me

I don't think NYR will do anything against the Sens. I am think STL/ANA and Sens/Pens

They need to tear that poop down in Montreal, poorly constructed team! When your best center is probably a third line centre you're in big trouble.
- LeftCoaster

I got roasted earlier in the year when I suggested that the Canadiens minus Price and Weber were not that different than the Canucks. A slight exaggeration on my part, but essentially my point was they were poorly constructed and riding the coattails of an exceptional player in a pivotal position

But they probably won't cause of an overly passionate fanbase... Sound familliar?

I feel bad for Price. He is an elite goaltender who really does deserve a cup, he just has never had the support to do it.

I think their game is going to kick up actually. They get their big guns going they should win that series. Ott isn't as deep and goaltending isn't quite as good.

Betting vs. my buddy I picked Rangers first, he took Oilers so then I took Blues and he said he'll need a day to think about WSH PIT

Galchenyuk scored 30 goals a year ago so they have a #2C. The kid is still only 23 years old.

The could add a guy like Tavares and be a top contender as easily as they could blow it up.

Anderson has done little these playoffs so I wouldn't be surprised to see him steal a round.

I think they are too emotionally invested in Price to move him, and Weber's contract is an albatross soon enough.

I thought that moving Subban meant that they could still move Price, but I think goalies get more of the sentimental treatment. So Price could possibly turn into Lundqvist, who carried that franchise for years but now is not worth the cap hit that will cripple the Rangers for the coming seasons

I expect him to play well, but Lundqvist looks very solid right now, he should get more goal support vs. the Sens

If dark times are ahead for the Habs then the sun is about to disappear for the Canucks.

He should, unless Anderson goes into one of his streaks.

He is the ultimate streaky goalie.

NYR were quietly a 100-point team on a very poor season from Lundqvist. I think they have the offensive breakout potential against OTT who has a negative goal differential on the season. I gotta keep my eastern conference final matchup hopes alive after SJ and CHI busted my west predictions

Yeah I think "blowing it up" is pretty dramatic. It was strange year for them scoring wise. Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Shaw, Pleckanec were all down quite a bit in average point totals. But then you see some vast improvements and hope for the future with Lehkonen, Danault and Byron.
As for youth, they really only have Bitten and Scherbak coming down the pipe, Mete is an offensive D and Juulson & Sergachev should jump into the lineup next year depending on who LV claims, and I cant see Markov coming back.

I do think they have some nice pieces, I just think the configuration is not balanced well. Their depth on D beyond Weber IMO is atrocious as I am of the opinion that Markov and Emelin are massively overrated, while Petry is overpaid.

I do like some of what they have up front, but I think they are in a prime position to reconstruct their roster without taking too far of a step backwards, rather than doubling down on something that has proven, without Price at his best, to not be very good

Lundqvist had a great series (as well as NYR's defence). Now apparently the Habs are awful and Price/Weber should be traded? It's such nonsense, they are 1 goal scorer away from being a threat in the playoffs again. It's funny how quickly people jump off the Carey Price Bandwagon.

Can't see it being all that difficult to pry Price out of MTL now...

Edler Tanev Gaunce should do it?

Preds/Sens final. The most inconsequential cup final in history.
