I don't know. I think people are underselling the Blues. I wouldn't be surprised if they won, but I see 6-7 games no matter what

Crazy there were no game 7s in round 1

Allen was out of this world, its the only way imo. But hot goalies do do damage. Tarasenko did nothing til game 5 either, so youd think he'd get better also. Preds just remind of LA right now during those runs they made, I think preds make finals

I wouldn't be shocked if St Louis won. Too many people looking past them. Take what we saw in the first round and erase most of it from the memory banks. Has little impact on this round.

Yeah I mean the Preds are probably the favorite but I wouldn't count out the Blues. They have some serious skill on that team.

Who would have thought the Pens would have dismantled the Jackets the way they did. I wasn't as high on Columbus as some, but never thought it would have played out like that. Especially Murray going down in warm ups before game 1.

There may be some truth to the end of season play and going in hot mantra. Both cbj and Chicago finished combined 4-20 in end of march/April. OT losses also, but still both were awful to finish

Yeah, think it depends on the situation and the players.

I have to say as much as the Easter Massacre bothered me, I keep wondering if that wasn't actually a good thing.

They got trashed by every sports paper, every hockey outlet, every analyst etc. And that had to bother them.

I think he would actually help them.

Somebody has to explain to me why jersey still owns his rights after that contract was voided.

Cause he went of the VRL: Voluntary retired list. Just basically a CBA loophole. VRL is for players under 35 that retire from the NHL who might think about making a comeback. If Kovy waits another year, he comes off the VRL and can sign with any team he wants.

I had the Pens, but in 6. I actually did really well in my pool, so far. I got every series right, except I had the Hawks over Nashville (like most others).
Biggest problem is I had them going to the Cup final...

...and losing to the RANGERS!!!!!!

Exactly what it was. They had to be embarrassed by the lack of effort. I'll settle for a stinker in a series if that puts them back on track to win.
They're going to have issues with Sens speed, and the Rangers suck at recovering the dump ins.
Thoughts?

All, trying to determine how best to do the blogs leading up to Thursday's game. Should I just do one that covers forwards, defense, goalie etc. or separate ones by position or something else? Open to thoughts. No guarantee I follow the suggestions but willing to listen to all.

Im with you on Nashville. Wouldn't shock me if they sweep Blues. Wild was the better team in every game that series, they just couldn't score. Preds will score
- Slimtj100

Nashville is fully awesome. I still can't believe McPhee traded Forsberg for (frank)ing Martin Erat.

Imagine a line that was Backstrom centering Ovechkin and Forsberg.

Ekholm is probably top-3 most underrated defenseman in all of hockey.
