You guys should trade down to 6th and draft Cal Foote.
If you can get a high 2nd for trading down; you can pick up Miro Heiskanen. He just had a fantastic u18 on a dominant Finnish team. Also a defense. 2nd in scoring at u18's.

Get a good defense core to add to the OJ pick and worry about picking offensive forwards in the two drafts after this one.
That is unless you guys can actually land #1 or #2. Lol - fry

its staying in the same spot. So not optimism of moving up or negativity of sliding down. The sweet spot without being emotionally charged |

Foote at 6th is a huge reach imo
I'd guess that Heiskanen isn't going to be available in the 2nd at this point, stock is rising fast. |

optimism is staying 2 or moving up 1. Realistically is expecting 3-5 |

I like the idea of drafting Dmen but Heiskanen will be gone top 10 and Foote is more of a 12-18 pick.
Im hoping for a center top 5. Then trade tanev for two 1st rounders(maybe the lightning at 14) then take Foote.
Trade Edler for a first 2018 and a pick this year, maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Would have to be to a better team with hopes of making a big playoff run.
With 2018 draft having loads of good dmen and having 3 picks, just make sure to pick a top LD and RD with two of 1sts and use the other for a top forward prospect at any position. |

this fanbase has been tortured for years and years....there's a reason why they're like this. Hard to keep waving pom poms and give the team the benefit of the doubt when they usually screw up somehow.
I guarantee you that you'll see a more patient/happy fanabse if they actually start rebuilding properly because at least then the fans will have something to look forward to, a light at the end of this tunnel. Right now you have the media/management that keep saying "well these fans won't tolerate a rebuild so Vancouver can't do one"
well (frank) me, I guess Canuck fans will be happy to line up for years of mediocrity as the team continues to try and "stay competitive" with desperate UFA signings and random trades while trying to build for the future with less picks/prospects than other bottom feeders. That sounds much better!!!
Where do we sign up???? - Nucker101
My thoughts exactly |

Can we agree that this fanbase tends to go overboard on every shiny new draft pick? Can we also agree that we tend to turn on them if they aren't exactly why they've been hyped to be? It might not always be to blame, but it sure doesn't help, and it sure doesn't make it comfortable for players who aren't prepared for it. Vancouver has always been a hard market to excel in, because our history of being a sad sack franchise has conditioned us to hype and hope over every single player that puts on the uniform, even if that hype/hope isn't deserved. - DariusKnight
Yeah, but so what? Fans love to believe that they have this massive bearing on how sh!t unfolds, but that's not the case at all. Listen... If the pillow biting Sedins can come into this market & have amazing careers despite possessing the skating skills of my 3yr old niece, then ANY prospect has a chance. I've never seen prospects publicly bullied like those dorks were when they came over. Perhaps our prospects fail because the majority of them are bad selections, not because the fanbase hurt their feelings by questioning their skillsets/ceilings. |

Heiskanen is probably a lock to go top 10 and Foote is projected around the 15-20 range. |
