I think one thing that has me hooked is that I don't know much of the actual history behind this stuff. So it's all new to me |

I heard the bills are down to the te, 2 db's's (one from ohio state) and the lb from bama
they are not looking at wr or qb
translation, the bills are drafting a wr |

We went from a perennial mediocre team, tore it to the ground only to have yet again, a terribly mediocre, perhaps even worse, team.
That's what happened until it changes.

With the news of Peppers testing positive...
I'm hoping we take a CB in the 1st, & Peppers falls to the 2nd
That takes care of the secondary
Then we just gotta try & trade for a WR somehow |

Some on here thought Girgensons would be producing like Kadri is now
He's got skills, but never been a goal scorer at any level
Idk why anyone thought he'd be anything but a "defensive" center |

I expected him to be something like a 20g/20a type of player. They are harder to find than you would think. |

There were a few on here who came at me hard Bc I said I'd use him as a trade piece to get O'Reilly
This was back when Girgensons had just been drafted & the ROR situation in Colorado had just started
My reasoning was that I never thought he'd be a 20 goal scorer & he'd likely top out as a good 3C
He was never really a "goal scorer" so I just didn't see why everyone expected him to be once he got to the NHL?
All that said...
I don't think he's "dead weight"
He can probably still be a good defensive player who shouldn't ever cost us too much
If he were given a chance to play wing with O'Reilly,
I bet he could be effective defensively against other teams "scorers"
I doubt he has much trade value right now,
So I'd like to see what he can do under a new coach |

He did have 15 goals in 60 something games in Nolan's "system"(so what if he played 19 minutes a night?) before he snapped his leg, and even with the Latvians voting him, probably was our all-star that year. You could argue Ennis, but Girgensons was a feel good story.
I think he can be a good guy on the 3rd line wing, move to center for injuries, with more touch than usual for a 3rd liner. |

That was a nice season for him...
but he'll likely not ever produce at that rate again bc he won't be getting that icetime as our top center
I do think he can be a 10-15 goal scorer & be a solid defensive forward for us
My point was mostly that I just never understood why so many had high offensive hopes for him?
I always saw him as more of a Gaustad-like player |

One Who Eats Lions is now One Who Is Trade Bait, prolly.
Personally I like Gus as 4C over Larsson, but it's hard to tell cuz our 4th line has been total garbage for years now. |

great defensively and 45 point per year player

I'm sick and tired of guys underperforming in this city relative to draft status.
Whether it's Watkins/Dareus/Spiller etc or it's Reinhart/Girgensons etc.
Give me some guys that exceed expectations.
Reinhart does the bare minimum and people go up in arms if you want more - sbroads24
Bare minimum you say?
