So how long until rights to tryamkin becomes the new trading chip de jour?
Sedins and rights to tryamkin to mtl for galagher and salary dump.
Mtl signs kovy.
Heard it here first. - dbot
Sedins to mtl is not possible as a salary dump scenario. You can t take on 14 million in a sal dump trade |

Outside Patrick/Nico i am 50/50 between mittle and vilardi. Unless Sutter plays on our 4th line i think Vilardi should go to juniors and then take over 3c from Hank the following year. May be the best for his development to become a future 1c. - Retinalz
I think vilardi could be the best of the bunch, a lot of offensive upside and actually uses his bodysize well. I'd be stoked on him, not the sexy pick but might be the best long-term |

I may be the minority but I don't think Green is the guy we should have gotten.

I don't base whether a prospect should make a team on whether he's better than some other scrub, I base it on if his skillset is developed to the point that it couldn't benefit from some seasoning vs lesser competition. OJ isn't ready. My opinion. - DrChristianTroy
Yes. I got that. Didn't discount your opinion. But just added that look at the choices for the roster. Thus, why not season vs greater competition if the opportunity is there?
Don't see the harm in that. Sure it's a steeper learning curve and lots of mistakes. But on a long leash with the right coach to guide and nurture it works. Then your capable qualified player learns and develops. |

I'm not a fan either. Seems like more of the same. While I'm sure he bring some new things, I would have preferred more experience. I think they could have been More patient. In general a trait that perhaps a more experienced group would have. What I like about shanahan(I hate the leaves, but just saying) is he knew he was a rookie and surrounded himself with experience. Linden keep saying failing to do this, I truly hope he hires a more experienced person to help him and JB in the front office. Can't happen soon enough imo |

That's a familiar fanboy stance made by every dude I debate leading up to every draft... Then a few years later when the players I liked are studs & the players we picked are busts, they get amnesia. - DrChristianTroy
Yeah but Virtanen has a 3rd line floor!! |

If a player isn't ready, they shouldn't be in the lineup.
Hire some journeyman stop-gap and let the player develop.
Where is the type of development you are talking about happening? |

Im not sure Green will be the "right" guy either if we are talking about making playoffs and improving significantly but I have no doubt that he will be good for teaching our young players what it takes to be a pro.
Comparing him to Eakins makes no sense IMO, Eakins was brought in to take the oilers talented youth to the next level. Green hopefully is being brought in to show the Canucks talentless youth how hard you need to work if you want to be a pro.
I expect boring grinding hockey under green but they will be hard workers and he won't play favorites |

Ready is an arbitrary term. Who said and how do you know they aren't able to play in the NHL?
By the way on player options, see the page 5 post, who do you think Green should have in the line up? |

3 of our last 5 1st rounders have been OL (Okung/Carp/Ifedi). Only Ifedi's still with the team & they're moving him to RT (who knows if that'll work). I really hope the Bolles rumour is a smokescreen. |

Ifedi was a tackle in college so it makes sense. |
