You know you have hit rock bottom when a fan base debates for three days a coach that has never coached a NHL game . - VANTEL
True rock bottom is being a Flames fan like Red. It could be worse |

Linden and Benning were so sure, but I liked that it was because watching him work and how he set things up in Utica. Still would have liked to see a more experienced hand come in to guide the kids though. - neem55

Nuge and Yak are both examples of this. While Draisitl is an example of it being done the right way (sent down when he couldn't handle the NHL pace/workload). Nuge got injured and had a hard time adjusting to the NHL game. Hard to say how much better he could have been, or whether he might still get better. Yak they rushed right in, like JV—he got a fathead after year one. Canucks handled the fathead (and gut) the right way, sending him down whereas Yak is probably ruined. Puuljarvi is another example of a guy not ready, who they haven't rushed. I expect this (much like Draisitl) to pay offf big for them. Most kids cant handle the spotlight at 18-19. Give it to them and it can (frank) them up, end their careers and wreck their confidence - neem55
You are back on this "ready" issue with players. How this has anything to do with Green's success as coach or lack of will ruin players I don't know. Pretty sure with like you said the coach decides who's ready. With Green's earn it approach he won't play anyone not ready. He may coach someone up to succeed but he won't waste time on a guy not "ready".
Also, the Oil comparisons are not where the Nucks are or are headed. All their young prospects to look at next season are one plus years removed from draft. They may for the first time, depending on lotto, bring a player from draft year to NHL this season. We shall see. But not if they aren't ready. More players are "ready" lately with better training etc. But many won't have impact of a Laine or Mathews, Mcdavid because of less talent. So don't make the cut. |

Surprised Dragon hasn't weighed in on Green, maybe he's waiting on which assistants get hired before he decides how good of a sword wielder Green is |

Well, because clearly some guys make the wrong call. A rookie coach, might make that kind of rookie mistake. This is why I've stated a more experienced coach is my preference, I truly hope Green proves me wrong and is an amazing coach and role model. As a ex-player he does bring an element of experience that WD didn't have.

You don't know if the cat is alive or dead unless you open the box.
You don't know if he is a good coach or bad coach until he coaches. |

Statistically he drives offense more than any kid in the draft. big, protects the puck and has the IQ. Love it

I read a scouting report by someone that said he has the best hands in tight situations, in the draft. Sounds like someone Van could use. A little like Kopitar. |

If I was the Habs GM, i think i would be offloading Price.
I think he's great, but no way i'm sinking 9-10m in one goalie.
Shades of Roberto Luonogo (who i also like).
I'd say trade him now if you could.

He's not slow either, I think he might be the big sleeper (if a top5 can be called that) and may end up being the best player in the draft. Glass is another intriguing one. If we pick lower and vilardi is gone, I'd be into him being a 4 or 5 pick. I was challenged by a few posters about putting him low on my draft list and so have watched some tape, definitely an elite scoring center and may have the size to be the same at the next level. |

The team is just also not good enough. If they landed kovalchuck though... it might tip the scale a bit. |

Let's go Pred's! Some reason I've always liked this team. I guess it's just the work helmet mentality they've always had. Subban quietly had his best ever defensive performance in the first round. - neem55
Me to im a big preds fan. I dont know why but I am
They got the good subban |
