Which game?
In all honesty, what game over the past two years is the "Reinhart game"?
We drafted Van Reimsdyk while Edmonton got a Seguin.
At least it wasn't a Yakupov. Glass half full. |

Sam is who he is, will he ever be big power forward, Nope. However he will be good for 20-30 goals a year and 20-30 assist per year.
Fix the D- and have more puck possession time and I think he can be a solid 60-70 pts per year player.
The key to all of the Sabres woes is fixing that abysmal Defense.. That's my logic for the day, I need a nap now my brain hurts.. |

Fun times to be a Buffalo sports fan. Can't say "Hey at least we aren't the Oilers", "Hey at least we aren't the Leafs", and I bet after next year, "Hey at least we aren't the Browns". |

And, they still have Puljujarvi to join the team at some point. Are you sure don't want the Leafs to continue to stack the talent? I know I'm thankful that the Sabres will be adding another high pick this draft. |

No one cares bout Arizona though.
I'd say Colorado, Buffalo, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Dallas.
I don't think anyone will ever care about Arizona or Las Vegas |

Leafs have their core players set up (minus 1 more dman). Hopefully we draft Hague or Foote and they become part of the core. Or even Brannstrom.
We need to continue drafting support guys like Kapanen, Bracco, Brown, Dermott, Nielsen, Korshkov, Brooks etc. (I know they all weren't Leafs draft picks).
Role players can be signed as FA's for.pretty cheap |

based on what I have read (red) the last 6 months, on here
we clearly have different grasps of reading comprehension - homiedclown
Yeah, you comprehend people's criticism as wanting to hang the guy and I interpret it as justified disappointment in a #2 overall pick. Last year wasn't an issue but this season he warranted all of the criticism he's gotten.
He can blame the coach all he wants and so can anyone defending him but the fact of the matter is he was invisible for around 41 games last year. In other words he only showed up half the time and when he did it was 5 minutes late.
The biggest issue I think most of us have is that when Eichel went down, he should have stepped up, yet he was by far one of our worst players until Eichel came back and [miraculously] started to look competent again once he did.
I get that a lot of top-3 picks take a few years to really hit their stride but he hasn't taken a single game over now in over 150+ NHL games, he hasn't shown this wonderful "Hockey I.Q." we keep hearing about and half of those 40 goals he has scored have been deflections and garbage goals.
While that's great and all and a goal is still a goal, for a supposedly finesse player, he isn't a fast or agile skater, he hasn't shown any kind of stick or puck handling at the NHL level, he doesn't have a cannon slap shot unless it's in some ridiculous team skills competition and his wrist shot is a floater 90% of the time.
Take Briere for example. He could score the dirty goals and he could snipe them top shelf like nobody's business, too.
Especially over the past 10 years or so, players are more NHL ready at a young age, so I don't understand the constant excuses. These guys are manufactured to play at a high level and Reinhart looks like a freshman playing on the varsity team.
All he has shown us at this point is he's a competent, complimentary player. And that's NOT what you want or need from a #2 overall pick, weak draft or not. Especially seeing Draisaitl, a guy who apparently GMTM and Sabres management were really high on and considered taking but thought taking him at #2 was somehow "too high" even though he went right after him.
The excuses people make and the way they sugar-coat everything on this board is mind-blowing. Then you have a few of us call it pretty straight and fair and we all of a sudden want to drive a stake up a guys bumhole and parade him around town.
This organization has been a disaster since Terry Pegula bought it. Plain. And. Simple. At this juncture, all fingers should be pointing at our micro-managing, pink-slip raining, clueless owner.

I bet Vegas will not be the worst team in the league next year. They will have good goalies and a pretty good defence corps. They will have trouble scoring though. |

A young man joined the army and signed up with the paratroopers. He went through the standard training, completed the practice jumps from higher and higher structures, and finally went to take his first jump from an airplane. The next day, he phoned his father to tell him the news.
"So, did you jump?" the father asked.
"Well, let me tell you what happened. We got up in the plane, and the Sergeant opened up the door and asked for volunteers. About a dozen men got up and just walked out of the plane!"
"Is that when you jumped?" asked the father.
"Um, not yet. Then the Sergeant started to grab the other men one at a time and throw them out the door."
"Did you jump then?" asked the father.
"I'm getting to that. Everyone else had jumped, and I was the last man left on the plane.
I told the Sergeant that I was too scared to jump. He told be to get off the plane or he'd kick my ass."
"So, did you jump?"
"Not then. He tried to push me out of the plane, but I grabbed onto the door and refused to go. Finally he called over the Jump Master. The Jump Master is this great big guy, about six-foot five, and 250 pounds. He said to me, 'Boy, are you going to jump or not?' I said, 'No, Sir. I'm too scared.' So the Jump Master pulled down his pants and whipped his cock out. I swear, it was about twelve inches long! He said, 'Boy, either you jump out of that door, or I'm sticking this up your ass.' "
"So, did you jump?" asked the father.
"Well, a little, at first." |

So just because he was a 2nd over all pick means that he has to be lighting fast and score highlight reel goals all year? Don't blame him where he was drafted, that is on TM. Let me ask you this, if he was drafted in the 4th round would you be thinking differently of him? I bet you would, but at the end of the day production is production. 40 goals in 2 years is not bad for a 21 year old kid. And I could care less how he scores them, tips, deflections, off his a$$... Don't care as long as he scores. Fix the D-, FIX the D, FIX the D and he will score 30 goals... |
