Miller does not = rebuild.
Not denying he was bloody good but if they are truly rebuilding then they should going with Markstrom & whoever backs him up.

Edmonton circa 2007 to 2016

Colorado to finish up this year.

Toronto from 2013 to 16

Arizona if you ignore Doan

These are all team's that we should emulate

According to Botchford, sure not 100% accurate, canucks see Patrick as an eric staal, think Hishier would complement Horvat better.

22? That is so old. If there are anyone over 20 in the Canuck organization by the start of camp, I'm done

nico
Patrick
vilardi
heiskanen
mittlestadt

Nico is much better compliment to Horvat. He is a fast, slick, playmaker that excels at both end of the ice. The Canucks don't have anyone with his skillset. Horvat isn't much of a playmaker, a true North South game.

I would gladly take either, but would be a bit more happy with Nico.

Your top five is my top 5 as well. I would have Mittlestadt ranked above Heiskanen strictly because there is no way the Canucks spend consecutive first round picks on D men.

IF they figure Heiskanen is a #1D as suggested then by all means spend the pick on him. We'll have another couple of years to grab a 1C and some wingers.

yes, I agree with you. Canucks take a center but I think Heiskanen will go before 5.

Yeah me too. I was hoping the Dolphins would use a 5th on him.

I guess with Collins a few years ago it was a murder in question.

Cant argue we need a playmaker once henrik is gone, but if they land at number 4 they should still draft one of the top centers, even at 5 i wouldnt mind Glass, cant see drafting a dman top 5 two years in a row when they need centers now.

Why not
Love having a strong defense core of prospects

So we don't end up like toronto. I am going laugh my A$$ off when they severely overpay for a d-man because there defense prospects suck.

D take longer to develop?

It's not like they won't get another top 5 pick or 3.

I know DCT says that stats aren't anything but i'm pretty sure that just (frank)en destroyed his argument.
- manvanfan

Huh?

The only thing I've ever said that's even close is that I don't rank prospects based on their stats alone.

Given the pace that D take to develop, I wouldnt be opposed if they think that highly of him.

Of the 16 first round picks Nashville has had, they have taken D 7 times. Their best franchise players have been D selected in the first and second rounds. Sure they were an offensively challenged team, but they have since began to flip them for better assets

Im pissed that steelers took TJ Watt instead of foster. TJ already has a messed up knee and we already have pretty good OLB's.

But, i guess they always have a plan for the future.

I love how they were able to trade Seth Jones and they barely lost a step.
