I have been on board with this since the beginning but wonder what it'll take for them to pry him from MTL

McCabe should be staying put. Not sure what they want to do with Guhle just yet but I would think if G makes the team your left side is set but they might keep Gorges on the 5-6 role and keep Guhle in the AHL for a year. I would like the Sabres to look at moving players on the right side. If you can get rid of Bogo's contract go after Shattenkirk if it wont cost too much money in FA

1) sign Antipin
2) get RH defenseman for 2nd pair
3) try to upgrade McCabe

But we also have work to do before we trade him imo

signing Shattenkirk would be a mistake

He's RH defenseman, who is AVERAGE at defense & a PP specialist
Shattenkirk get exposed every year in the playoffs in his own end
We don't need that for 7mil a year
Plus, our PP is already great
I just don't see him as a good fit with us

anitpin and guhle upgrade the left d as a whole, but you need a stud rhd if those are your 3 lhd's for the fall
